Hi folks,
I'm just wondering if anyone can shed light on this.
It's a while since I've used WP and at the time if you scheduled future posts they weren't alway pinged properly to your ping list (i.e. the post would publish but the likes of pingoat wouldn't be pinged).
Is this corrected in WP 2.3/2.5 or can anyone suggest a plugin for this?
Thanks in advance

Hi Niall
Pinging on new and scheduled posts is built into WordPress. I do not know if it was corrected in 2.5, but I frequently schedule future posts and they show up in the Google Alerts.
It could be because I use a plugin named MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer. It can help with making sure the sites you specify are pinged when scheduled posts go live and prevent multiple pings when an article is updated.

Hi Jim,
Perfect answer and maximum points! That's exactly what I wanted to avoid - multiple pings. It got me blacklisted in the past from one or two pinging services - that plugin should help!
Cheers
