Upcoming CJ Link Format Changes ...

As of later in June, CJ is going to go to a javascript only link format (for new advertiser/publisher relationships and new advertisers). Reading the alert, it sounds like you will still be able to generate HTML links for email, keyword links will be much more restricted than they are now. It's not clear (at least not to me) exactly when the existing links will be phased out.

Besides envisioning a fair amount of work finding and changing the links, I picture lo-o-ong load times on some of my pages and having to worry about visitors with Javascript disabled . I do see benefits for the advertisers (better control over what is displayed) and it will get around the antivirus programs that block ads and CJ URL's ... for a while, anyway ...

Ros, are you out there? What's your take on this? Good thing or bad thing???

I've blogged about this several times and I'm sure everyone by now knows the good news - that CJ has backed down on forcing Javascript links and HTML links will be back on the 30th.

Just saw this thread and thought I'd reply while I was here.
