Hi there! I need some advice from you experienced affiliate publishers.
I have been working on starting a online business for the past year. My goal is to have income from different sources. I have been studying about ecommerce and have gotten my feet wet in ebay auctioning, an online store supplied by a good dropshipper, and have joined some of the affiliate networks. My desire is to have a polished, professional, and successful online business. I have seen how others made this into their dream come true income and career. Now this stay at home wants to do the same!
I have made mistakes like paying for a product or service that ended up being junk. But I learned to always look for other's reviews before clicking on that buy now button.
I think I have some good assets so far for my business plans:
1) I have some niches for my site or sites: decorating, gifts, crafting, and home business.
2) I have 2 dropship companies with good reputations. I have also been gathering ebooks with resell rights.
3) I have several years experience in customer service and retail as a retailer and professional crafter. So I have some talent and good instincts about business.
My problem is that I can't seem to figure a good plan how to set up my website or sites. So I need some advice and feedback.
First would it work to create a large site, for other moms or women, then use my niche ideas together? I was thinking one site with a 'for mom's theme' would encircle several niches so I could grow it as I get more content.
Second, would it work to include my products(from my dropshippers) on the same site/domain? Part of me wants to do this to not need to promote several sites, but I fear visitors will become "lost" with visiting my affiliates and never buy any products.
My other idea has been to work on small niche at a time-one site per niche. One type of product per site(decor on one, jewelry on another, etc.) but will promoting them all get too overwhelming? Especially when I seem to not find templates I like and I don't know much about web site development.
I am also running into issues where website creation software doesn't have matching templates: the site itself doesn't match my product's catalog, then the blog has yet another template. I want it to look classy and refined, not hodgepodge.
I want to make choices I feel will be the best for my company's growth. I'm tired of not being able to focus because I can't decide how to set up my site.
I appreciate any advice |
