I've been website marketing since 1999 and have been very successful until September 2005 when my sites were blinded by Google's Update Jagger.
Since September I have been working 7 days per week on learning programming, website development, CSS, PPC, etc to regain some control.
I've waited a long time before buying Rosalind's Super Affiliate Handbook. I was interested in the Super Affiliate techniques.
I enjoyed the discussion about staying focussed.
For years I had simply focussed on SEO and keeping my sites highly visible. That went well for 5 years. Google Update Jagger knocked my sites into the Arctic region of results. Cold and dead.
So since the time after google jagger, I was hopelessly out of focus. The reason was, that I had so much to learn to get back into control again. The main question being, where to start?!! So.. the relevance of focus is important for newbies and experienced people.
For the last 5 months I have purposely taken on several vertical learning curves so as to get back into control and get focussed again. For the first time in a long while I feel that I can get back and focussed on the business of making money. I feel that I have learned enough about programming and website development etc to do that.
I enjoyed the Super Affiliate Handbook (I'm going to reread it several times) as it is a good guide, written by an experienced marketer. It was a nice smack upside the head
I've written about this in my blog.
Thanks Rosalind. |

Hey Monty!
Welcome to the 'right' side of the tracks! We're delighted to have you with us.
Sorry to hear about your sites, but with continued effort, you'll get them back on the rails... and it's always good to know that you're not alone.
Hope you read yesterday's 'Come-Back Affiliate' newsletter about Colin McDougall, who also got Google-smacked. He's doing great now!
I made 2 more posts about his success in the last couple of days to the blog as well.
Whatever you do, wherever you go with your sites, remember this:
Online marketing is all about your visitors... and it's ALWAYS been all about your visitors.
Cheers,
Ros |

That's true Rosalind,
I sorta / kinda of lost site about the visitors as I was spoiled with ample amounts of free traffic. Fortunately now I'm starting to get that vision back.
I've always been about high quality - high value content, which I'm going to translate in to PPC's
Thanks again,
Cheers |
