Since I am not new to affiliate marketing, I will answer the previous and current question.

Would would be the biggest lesson you have learned in affiliate marketing?

Promoting more than one product per page confuses the visitors to the point where they make no purchase at all. Having an overview of one product is best. The only exception to that is if you are comparing similar products and are an affiliate for both.

what attracted you to affiliate marketing?

I wanted to supplement my primary services with related products, but had not created any products of my own.

Next question: When monetizing your website or blog, do you prefer Google AdSense or CBClicks (ClickBank products)?

Jim,

Next question: When monetizing your website or blog, do you prefer Google AdSense or CBClicks (ClickBank products)?

Jim Hutchinson

My answer is it depends on the site. I use both, only Adsense, or only Clickbank. It depends on the niche and my real world results. After a couple hundred or so unique visitors the numbers will tell me.

Of course there are other affiliate marketplaces other than ClickBank's.

My question is:

What is your biggest stumbling block in affiliate marketing?

My biggest stumbling block is writing compelling ad copy that entices the sale. Having been a copyrighter for a large company, I can write short ads all day long, but expanding it into long copy for web pages is a challenge.

Next question:
When creating a new website, how many people do you choose to critique it before launching?

As many as are willing to look at it - both on and offline. Forums such as the one affiliated with the SBI site have a 'review your website' section, which is great for getting feedback before you launch into promotion.

My question:
What has been your best results in getting free high traffic (not ppc)?

My best source of free traffic so far at least has been through interacting on social networking sites like twitter, social marketing central, facebook etc. as well as by commenting on other blogs in my niche.

Question: What is the most profitable use of your time on a daily basis?

And here's the first question...

Q. What was your first job? If you've been 'deprived' of that experience, what do you want to be when you grow up?

Sales, Sales, oh did I mention Sales. From the tender age of 15, I sold roof coatings for mobile homes. The mobile home roof was sprayed with polyurethane foam and then painted with a bright white latex roof coating.

Q. What motivated you to join this forum?

I joined this forum because i am stuck on figuring out how to market my affiliate products and finding where my target market is. I thought I knew when I started my website but lost my way now that I am finished the major part of building my website I feel lost on what to do next. I think its newbie fear.

What do you hope to get out of joining this forum?

Thank You,

My first job was writing a local newspaper. We compiled the weekly news, announcements and classified ads from the neighbors. I was nine years old and diligently wrote on 8 1/2 x 11 ruled paper using 5 carbons at a time (couldn't press any harder to make the 5th copy legible.) My brothers and I sold the papers around the neighborhood for 9 cents apiece.

Why did you join this forum? Answer:

To learn from other people's wisdom...

Question to the Next New Member:

Hello out there. I am in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. I own my own business as a Mobile Notary Signing Agent. A business that is often times chaotic and right now very unpredictable with the economy the way it is. So I am looking to expand my horizons in affiliate marketing. I have many interests/experiences to choose from. Which leads me to my question? How does one focus on just one niche without feeling overwhelmed by the time and energy to research the one niche that would make the most money without the most expense to start out with? I will admit I am a bit apprehensive in getting over the first few bumps in the road. I have tried several things in the past that just didn’t get me to where I want to go. I want a life where I can live and enjoy the living and not just surviving the life to be lived.
