The most challenging task for me wasn't to select a topic for my site, I knew I wanted to write about health and from there I had several sub niches to choose from.
The most challenging task for me was to select products to sell.
I started with Clickbank but didn't find anything I wanted. A lot of weight loss and pharmaceuticals. Nothing particularly attractive on LinkShare
I had better luck with Commission Junction and Share a Sale.
However, everything I liked offered 8%-10% commission.
I continue looking for weeks.
Then last night in talking to a friend of mine, he cleared it out of for me. If I wanted higher commissions I needed to affiliate to manufacturers directly.
The products I liked didn't have a direct affiliate program, instead distributors had affiliate programs for them. Examples are drugstore.com evitamins.com, even amazon, com (for books). They all offer about 10% commission.
After talking to my friend I performed my search on a different way:
"my favorite product" + "Affiliate"
and I finally found products that I knew, trust and use for my families’ health that had affiliate programs directly. I got approved last night for one of them!! (50% commission) (they had automatic approval). I am waiting on other three.
I thought I share that with you. |

That is a great tip! I am sure many others have struggled with the same dilemma and can now find higher commissions using your advice.
Thanks for sharing! |
