Hello, it's great to be here. I'm from the Washington, D.C. area and look forward to being an affiliate marketer.
What's kind of strange is that some friends and relatives have expected me to have landed something in the IT field by now (seven years after graduating college). . . the problem was basically a lack of real information on how to get my résumé noticed enough to get the interview have kept that from happening. Over the past few years I had an interest in starting a business, and quite a bit of my free time for months was spent reading articles and books about on-line businesses.
I first heard about Rosalind when reading through an Internet marketing course that Corey Rudl was selling about 4 years ago, but my interest in affiliate marketing really grew over the past several months, especially after reading Make a Fortune Promoting Other People's Stuff Online. Now that I've seen examples of how people go about doing this, I think I feel comfortable trying it myself.
I hope I can get a new blog set up over the next couple of days (and I can share more about myself there, too); it should be a good learning experience being a blogger and an affiliate simultaneously. If things start working out, I can take what I've learned there and apply it to another site (which started out as a blog) I've worked on since 2005. I haven't been able to work on that second site for a few months, but would like to resume soon. |

Welcome to the forum! The IT field is a good place to be, but you have to be willing to put in a lot of hours. If you are still interested in that field while you get your affiliate marketing business going, a search on Google should help, along with a visit to monster.com
Blogs are a great place to start your business. The best thing to do with those is to pick a niche topic, something that is focused. It will bring people to you as an authority on the topic.
Once you start the blog, you should set a schedule for posting articles and try to stick to it. Yes I know that other things in life need to be taken care of too and sometimes those things deter us from posting on the blog. Try to avoid that if at all possible and your site will continue to grow.
You will find a wealth of knowledge here, so browse around the various areas and start soaking it all in. |
