Hey all,
Always seems that there is something
new to learn about, hu.
Well, my next thing is "trackbacks" and URI's.
(as opposed to URL's?)
I thought I would start here
instead of googling it.
Which is my first step normally.
Anyone have any insight?
I'm completely in the dark about it.
( except for... it's about blogs )
Thanks All!!
Brad. |

I asked Ros something similar but I wanted to know where the trackback link is so I can copy and paste into my blog, under the posts section.
You copy and paste the trackback link down toward the bottom when you are making a post on you own blog.
The trackback will have to be approved by the moderator because the spammers like to post stuff unrelated.
Now the question is what's the difference between a trackback and a pingback?
For the trackback URL I think you just copy and paste the URL then add /trackback
It is probably in her book or she got to busy to answer. She's to nice to just ignore it cuz you gotta sleep sometime.
Don't forget Ros is our friend and so is Google.com. But Google can work 24/7.
We have the world at our fingertips with the search engines and the right search term(s)
Yours very sincerely and respectfully,

TrackBacks are used primarily to facilitate communication between blogs; if a blogger writes a new entry commenting on, or referring to, an entry found at another blog, and both blogging tools support the TrackBack protocol, then the commenting blogger can notify the other blog with a "TrackBack ping"; the receiving blog will typically display summaries of, and links to, all the commenting entries below the original entry. This allows for conversations spanning several blogs that readers can easily follow.

A TrackBack is two-way; it notifies the originating blog about new content and comments, then have those comments show on the other blog.
A PingBack is one-way; it simply notifies the originating site of new content. In WordPress, you can set your notification options with a list of article sites that accept pings when a new article or page is created.

Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) can be a Uniform Resource Locater (URL) which is an address like a domain name or IP address, or a Uniform Resource Name (URN) which is like a person's name.
A URN can be used to talk about a resource without implying its location or how to access it. For example, the URN urn:isbn:0-395-36341-1 is a URI that, like an International Standard Book Number (ISBN), allows one to talk about a book, but doesn't suggest where and how to obtain an actual copy of it.
