One Thing You Must Have To Grow A Successful Affiliate Marketing Business Before You Find A Market...
There is a ton of advice given to new and seasoned affiliate marketers alike that states a variation of the following:
"Find and research a market hungry to buy what you are going to promote first...then after finding that market...start your promotion."
Well...that is very solid advice. However, I will challenge that there is one thing that you need to do before you even start. This is not even promotion related.
You must find your "why."
What is your "why"?
It is the deep look inside your own mind that reveals why you are starting an affiliate marketing business in the first place!
Is it freedom?
What does freedom really mean to you? What does it taste, feel, and smell like?
That's right, you really need to put effort into this critical step.
If your "why" isn't freedom, what is it?
Then...take that one step farther, and explore what your perfect day would be like when you attained your "why." What happens? Who do you associate with? What do you eat?
There is a BUNCH more to this topic, but this should get you started
Now get to work on finding your own "why" today!
Obviously, if you have already discovered this, please feel free to share. |

This type of thinking just ends up getting me even more depressed when my clickbank account's sales for this pay period are still showing 0. :p
It would be less painful if they'd let me get the money for the one sale I did make but I need at least 5 to cash. Bleh. I'm gonna go do some actual work now. Motivation is no substitute for actually doing something. |

Johnny,
I am sorry to hear that man.
If you do actually think about and write down your "why", with specifics...
You will have integrated into your "inner mind" a solid finish line to aim for. If focused on, your why will drive you through even the toughest of times.
But you have to do the work first, and no shortcuts...as you said, motivation is no substitute, right? |

I found, over the years, that having a solid 'why' was able to help me over the hump of lack of motivation, fear and anything else that was getting in my way (like my favorite inactivity - checking email )
Unfortunately, before i 'discovered' this truth I'd heard it about 20 times and didn't internalize it. Only AFTER I was motivated enough to internalize and move forward did I learn the power behind the Y.
Warmly,
Gail |

Gail,
Yep, same thing happened to me too...I think it is the same story with many successful marketers.
It must have taken a wrecking ball to hit me in the head hard enough to get me to sit down and figure out my why.
But ever since I have (about 4 years ago now)...well...
