Hi, I'd like to incorporate OTO (one time offer) into my offer but I'm not sure how to go about doing this.

My plan is to offer a free product. When people sign up for the free product, I send them to this OTO page. So if they want, they buy. Otherwise, they just go to the bottom of the page and click a button to access their free product.

Can somebody give me more details on how to proceed from here please?

Hi Lydia515 -

I wrote this once and then lost the whole thing so I'll try to recreate it Smile

OTO's work on cookies, php, or database driven. If you are interested in running something inexpensively without caring if they really find the page again you could use simple html and links that say it's a one-time-offer.

If you want to be sure they can't get back then there are options that use cookies - but if the customer clears cookies then they can see the page again. There are those that use IP addresses but then the customer can use a proxy server and get the offer again. Or there are those scripts that set up a database on your server.

Here are some options I found. I haven't used any of them so I'd try to get a reference from others.

http://products.djt-engineer.co.uk/free-one-time-offer-script/ one time that works on cookies

http://www.turbohq.com/oto/index.shtml from John Delevera - cost $47.00 but comes with support

You can also go to RentACoder and get a simple script that works on cookies for around $15.00.

The question is - how much time and effort do you really want to put into a script to keep out the few who will try to bypass it to get to the offer again. And when they get to the offer the only thing they can do is buy anyway Smile

Hope that helps!

Gail
