Ok, so I'm just getting started and I send out email like Ros suggested.

I have a computer-challenged phone appointment with a merchant in 28 minutes, to try to get them to sign up for Click2Sell.

I thought all I would have to do is get them to put their products in Click2Sell, and then send me the affiliate link.

However, Click2Sell says you have to use their "Buy Now" buttons. Is this normal?

I can see this being a problem, since this merchant has an established website. I can't see them abandoning their payment collection system, and replacing all their shopping cart / paypal? buttons just because I'm asking them to let me promote them?

Once the company adds products to their account, they should have the option to create Buy Now buttons that allow affiliate links to be embedded.

So when you add yourself to promote their products, the advertising and ordering options will be there. When you click the link to create the HTML for that ad, your affiliate link should be in it already. According to their site, that option is built in.

Unfortunately, I have to say it still sounds it a bit greek to me (I told you I was stupid Smile

So the bottom line:

Can my potential merchant add their products to C2S, without using C2S Buy Now buttons, allowing me to go in to C2S and get my own affiliate links?

Yes, that is how the system is set up. The business creates an account, adds products to sell, you choose to be their affiliate and get their links that are coded to you.

All you do then is copy and paste the links into your web page, email, etc. and make the sales.
