Hi Ros, Jim & Grif,

I only address you folks cuz you are the ones that respond. I welcome all responses from anyone. I'd like to make more friends.

I have mentioned this before and Jim and Grif have repsonded. I am closer to building a niche market on health and cancer. I would like to contact Alice Seba & Mila Sidman for such PLR. I am wondering do I fine tune 'cancer & health' down to the type of cancer I have or just general cancer? I have pic's of me on the 'zapping' table(radiation) and pics of my lymph node removal operation from my neck(pretty graphic). I could use those. Then, my next step (this month) is to go for a final pet scan to see if the radiation got it all. I wish I would've kept a diary.

Right now I am struggling to gain weight, I lost 60lbs. I don't know sometimes I say 50!! Smile I'd like to focus on weight gain also cuz it is so difficult for me since the 'zapping' took my taste buds and saliva glands. I think people with the same kind as me could be interested.

Hey Guys/Gal, any more imput from you would be so helpful. I'm starting to see the path I'm to take I just need to be directed.

Sincerely,

Bob Jackson

Hello Bob!

Please don't feel disappointed if you seem to be getting few responses to your posts. They will come as others are able. One of the things I like best about Rosalind's NPT forum is that people seem to post more when they have something relevant to add to a discussion. Take a look at the many different threads, there may not be many responses to some, but look how many times they've been viewed. People ARE interested, they merely may not be ready to respond just yet. Wink

My $.02 says get specific and "fine tune" it to the type of cancer you are dealing with. Since you are undergoing treatement for it right now, you are pretty intimate with the subject therefore can generate good, quality content on it. As I don't recall that you stated what type of cancer you're fighting, I don't know how common it is. Regardless, I have no doubt that there are many others who are going through the same battles and would welcome more new information/ways to deal with the therapy and the side effects. (Trust me on this one, I speak from experience, though not cancer-related.)

I also understand that you are not keen on blogging, but your personal experience with this topic would certainly benefit others with the same affliction and/or those who are close to them, and blogging your daily struggles and successes could attract quite a following. For quick examples of what I mean, see NPT forum members Nikki (member id = seemediet, site = seemediet.com), and Doug (member id = DLZ, site = downbroadstreet.com). Both of these folks are on a mission to improve their lives and the lives of others through documenting and sharing their experiences with subjects they are dealing with on a day-to-day basis.

People naturally like to read about others who are going through similar experiences, and sharing experiences such as yours could only be benficial to them. We all have good days, some days are just better than others, so even when you have low points, share these too, along with how you overcame them. It adds a more personal side to the relationship you want to build with your viewers, and they will be grateful for your insights and what you have to offer them.

I'm reasonably sure that within your specific type of cancer and treatments that there are sub-niches you would be able to explore and develop, e.g. the cancer type itself, chemotherapy, medications, side-effects (such as your appetite & tastebud loss), etc. that fall UNDER your SPECIFIC malady.

To best enhance your efforts, go with what you know. Do the research on your type of cancer to see what kind of sites and information is already out there. If you find lots of information, then it's very likely you can build a community of your own for that subject. Adding your personal "spin" to it and providing YOUR expriences, both good and bad, to other victims and those close to them can go a long way in attracing a following, especially if you can help others to look toward a positive outcome.

Please keep us posted on your progress, everyone can benefit!

Thanks Griff-

Here is the thing. I have cancer at the base of my tongue. I can't remember what it is called w/out looking it up. My basic treatment is done. 38 treatments of radiation everyday 5 days a week. I'd like to post some pics if anyone is interested. Anyway, I finished those February 29, 2008 @ 8;45 am.

I didn't keep a diary but I can account for just about every morning I had to pick myself up and go lie on the table. I have had a few physical/visual exams since. The main one now is the pet scan. I had to wait till my body healed from the zapping so the results won't show false/positive results. I can make an appointment any time now, I just seem to forget to make the call.

My thinking here is, it has already happened, the day by day blows. Now, if the scan comes back showing cancer, then I'll have something to blog about. Do you get what I mean? All the 'juicy' stuff has happened.

If you feel save giving me your email I'll send you or anyone who would like to see some pics. Thanks man,

Hi Bob

Even though you have been through the radiation treatment, I see the potential for 38 articles, each detailing those treatments. There will be many others who are nervous about the radiation treatments.

Your personal experience can not only let them know exactly what it was like for you first hand, but how you managed to get through them.

Even more potential to note your progress online. Detail what you are doing to gain the weight back.

Fear not the thought of blogging. Once it is set up for you, all you do is write, just like you are doing here. Very Happy

Hi Bob -

Jim and Griff are so right. People are really interested in personal stories. Providing good solid information about nutrition or therapy is secondary to the personal story you can tell.

The medical information is out there - albeit not always written in layman's terms! How you personalize it will make you stand out from others.

It may be difficult to find PLR information on your specific cancer but think also about motivation, staying positive, the use of humor in your day, nutrition, depression with a diagnosis of cancer (or treatment of cancer), exercise and physical therapy to treat side effects of both the treatment and the cancer.

Take care!

Warmly,

Gail
