Well, actually from Oakville, Ontario, Canada! Very Happy

Hello Folks,

I am so excited that I have found this website and to be here today!

So for a few years now, I figure there has to be a different way to make $$$ rather than working foir someone else in the corporate world. 9 - 5 - more like 9 - 9pm.

Through conversations and what not - I am just starting to learn about the possibilities that are out there to earn $ - especially on the world wide web! I love the internet!

I look forward to reading and learning from the messages that are posted through out this forum in addition to sharing thoughts I have.

Thank you Ros and everyone for being an inspiration!
Keep on Laughing!!!!!!

Hello Denise, and Welcome to the forum! Very Happy

We are equally excited that you have found us, and look forward to seeing you succeed on your new adventure!

Please don't hesitate to ask any questions and share any experiences you have. Much of what you know about "brick and mortar" businesses can be translated to IM (Internet Marketing) in some form or other.

What's your background and what things are you interested in talking to the world about?

Please keep us posted on your progress, and best wishes for your success! Smile

Hello Griff!
Thank you for the response!

There are so many choices - decisions are the biggest challenge right now! LOL!
- Humour
- Music
- Ebooks.
- Self confidence/esteem - the self help area.
- Accounting

I am actually an accountant who just does not want to do the 'traditional' accounting thing any more! I would rather spend my time at home with my pugs and work in the evening as that is my peak time.

These are some of the areas I am interested in.
Thank you again for responding!

You are most certainly welcome, Denise! Smile

The choices you listed are all good "general" topics. You'll want to target your visitors further, though, but before even thinking about that: pick ONE topic that you are intimately familiar with (like accounting. . .WAIT. . .hear me out, heh, heh)! As you further stated, you don't want to do the "traditional" accounting thing any more. How about some NON-traditional (but legitimate, of course) tips and tricks that you've learned that make/made accounting easier for you?

Checklists and quick-reference guides are something I have found to be a GREAT way to draw a following for a specific niche. People are always looking for an easier/faster/better way to do things, and more people are more unorganized than ever nowadays. You can give them away for free on a blog or in a newsletter, etc. Later, after you have made a bunch of them, you can compile them in an ebook to promote, or as a special offer to go along with another product.

Maybe you have created some specialized spreadsheets that helped you in your work that you can compile and promote?

Perhaps you are aware of accounting programs, applications, etc., others would find useful that you could promote/market.

I only use accounting as an example because it is a subject familiar to you. Look back over your accounting history and list the things that made it fun, or easy, or difficult, for that matter and generate good content about it.

Whatever you have already been through, countless others are struggling with now, so be their guiding light. If you provide good information, you will be able to build a rapport with your viewers that will ultimately take you to new levels.

Use this same example for the other niches you are interested in.

To recap: pick ONE topic and explore the most familiar (to you) aspect(s) of it. Literally list everything you know about that aspect. Likewise, list your grey areas to see what you could quickly clarify to and for yourself. Then you can disseminate that knowledge to your now growing list of "fans".

Hey. . .waddya know. . .you're in business! (All connotaions apply! Very Happy)

Hope this helps!

P2P! Cool

Hi again, Denise!

By all means, STAY FOCUSED! IM is an adventure that is easy to get one lost, confused and overwhelmed. Maintaining self-discipline is paramount to being successful at it. Starting out, you're going to be inundated with promotions, offers and recommendations for this and that program or method. You will need to keep a clear head and make good use of your time.

If you have already purchased Rosalind's SAH, then you have everything you need to get off to a good start as far as systems, methods and techniques are concerned. Read, reread and absorb her material. Set short and long-term goals and stick to them. While it is great to examine different aspects and methods offered by others, it still boils down to building that good, solid foundation on which your on-line business will stand. SAH is about as all-encompassing and straight-forward as anyone starting out could ask for. It will pave the way for bigger and better things in the future and help to straighten out the learning curves.

Agreed, there's a lot to learn, but staying focused, keeping tabs on how you apply your time, and having the right learning materials in front of you will go a long way to making your business a success in a shorter time.

This forum and it's members are here to help too, so don't hesitate to ask questions and share results. We want you to succeed as much as you do!

Best wishes for your success! Very Happy

Thank you so much!
Yes - one needs a good solid foundation in order to have anything to grow on top of it. I suppose it is like learning the notes in music one has to have the basics before going forward.

Thank you again - you have helped me tremendously!

My pleasure, Denise! Very Happy

You are quite correct, a music student will learn the most basic C-major scale before moving on to x-minor or x-atonic, etc. scales.
