Yay!
Okay, what I did was delete the file and re-uploaded it and went through the process again and now it works!
Thank you again for all your help today. Definitely learned something new!
Cheers!

Good! One more hurdle conquered. There are plenty more goodies to play with. The podcasting is loads of fun tweaking. Nothing too complicated though. Let us know when you get to that.
Getting late. Signing off. Have fun!

I am not laughing. It has not been long since I learned was podcasting was. Once I knew, I started using it.
Podcasting is a method of releasing files to the Internet, allowing users to subscribe through an RSS news feed and receive new files automatically.
Those files are usually in the form of MP3, but can be other files too and even videos. Podcasting allows you to reach a wider audience by allowing them to listen to the recording online while they do other things, or download the MP3 files and transfer them to their iPod, which made the term, Podcasting, popular.
A recent study showed that an increasing number of people are listening to audio versus reading the vast quantities of information online. So I have been working on recording more of my blog articles to give people an option of reading or listening.
Podcasting is mobile learning made easy.

Thanks for not laughing!
My tools are very basic at the moment...computer, speakers and broadband internet! Once I've got the tools necessary to record things I would love to hear more about it and how to do it.
At least now I know what it is!
Thanks Jim! I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again...'You're a Legend, Mate!'
Cheers,

and shouted "now what the h@!! does that mean?!"
It will happen over and over.
You'll get used to it |

Hello!
Guess what? Yep. Am having difficulty with my home page again! Okay. When I am logged into Wordpress, my home page is visible to me. When I am logged out it comes up as...
Not Found
Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn't here.
I called my sister-in-law and asked her to log onto the internet and go to my site to see what she got and she has the same thing come up.
when I first started this post it was in regard to having 2 home pages and that's what happens when I go back in and publish it.
GriffG said a while back...
| Quote: | | It appears to me that you do not have 2 home pages, you have a duplicate entry in your WP menu system for the top menu. Check your code for duplicate entries. Note that they may not be back to back with each other. |
Where abouts do I check the code and what is it that I am looking for, just so I can have a better idea at what I'm doing!
Oh boy, I've been working so hard on this thing for a couple of months now and my brain is fried!
Any help would be graciously appreciated.
Cheers!
Kimberley

Hi Kimberly,
I don't know WordPress but, from a similar experience on a different CMS, it looks like an internal link to your home page content is either missing or corrupt.
Check to ensure any recent changes you may have done have not affected your internal link structure.
Have you been making incremental backups during your editing sessions?
If so, revert back one at a time to see at which edit the problem disappears. From there, you should be able to determine what was edited that caused the problem to appear by comparing the working version to the non-working one.
If not, I'm sure one of the resident WP experts will chime in soon to better answer your question.
Hope this makes sense and helps, (heh, heh, Brad can probably state it more succinctly than I. . . )
Griff

Hi Kimberley
I see the error too. That can happen if two pages are named the same, which could happen if you manually enter the Page Slug.
Go to Manage >> Pages >> check all the pages you have created for the home page and see if any of the Page Slugs are the same. Make sure there is only one named home.

Okay...
It seems to be working. I checked all the pages for the page slug's and everything was fine and then I had a thought (no it did't hurt! This is what happens when you get a decent nights shuteye! ) What I've done is ....
- clicked on Manage
- clicked on Page Links(WP Plugin)
- unchecked Home to take it off the site navigation
- and clicked update
If someone has a spare minute, would you mind checking my site to see if it worked?
Thanks heaps for all your help guys!
Cheers! |

I see your welcome message now. There is still a Home link on the menu too.
So what does the Page Links plugin do? I searched the WP plugins section and it returned 64 pages.

Thanks for that!
The Page Links plugin allows you to pick which pages you want to have displayed in the navigation bar. I can't remember where I downloaded it from but it's called Page Link Manager
Cheers!

Oh!
I also sent you an email about one of the links on your site in Blogging Secrets. Just in case, it was regarding SH-Autolink. When you click on it, nothing is there. So then I googled it and the name has been changed to alinks. Just thought I'd let you know!
Cheers! |
