A lot of the SEO I read about talks of getting linkes to your site from different sources and also having changing or updating information on your site. Of course, a blog is a great way to get this ever changing information.
With that said, I am planning on adding a blog to my site. My question is: Would it be better to have a separate Wordpress blog or have a blog that is integral to my site? My hosting is with Yahoo and they allow you to integrate the blog into your hosting plan and it becomes part of your site. I am wondering if I had a seperate blog if it would give me a boost in page ranking?
Any thoughts would be appreciated. |

Having the blog as an integral part of your site is better in my opinion, than having a separate blog. The primary reason is deep linking.
With a blog built into your site you will be building more pages into your site. Search engines like sites with more pages of related information and give more credit to them than they would if you had a separate blog linking to your site.
If the design is similar to your main page, then your visitors will get a feel for the flow through your site.
Hope that helps.

I want to improve my quality score for PPC, using existing static sites. If I add a Wordpress blog to my domain, will the SEO benefits of Wordpress (faster indexing, frequent updates to content) benefit the entire domain? Also, would I be better starting a site entirely in Wordpress on the new domain?
Any help would be much appreciated. I'm new to Wordpress so don't fully understand the ease of building fully functional sites. I currently use XSitePro.[/b][/i] |

The best way, in my opinion, is to build your site with WordPress. You can still have stand-alone pages for those that require special scripting.
That way you site is easier to manage online, while allowing you the flexibility of using XSitePro for the other pages.
In WordPress you can create pages and articles. The pages would be like any other page except they blend in with the site them and keep the navigation system in place.
The articles are a little different. While they too can be individual pages, they are grouped into categories. Depending on your linking structure, they will also be grouped by date. The individual pages are not grouped like that, but put on a separate menu.
I get the feeling I have totally confused you now, so if anyone can explain the differences better, feel free to jump in here.
