Hi everyone,
I am new to the forum. My study of internet marketing has been ongoing for the past year. I had trouble choosing a niche and finally went with a PLR membership site that was advertised by one of the big guys to his private membership folks. I chose a topic and got with it.
I had never created a website before so this took some doing but in three weeks I had the product rewritten, got it on clickbank and ran some PPC to it for testing. I ended up with 7 people on my list and a good many affiliates but no sales.
I fear that the niche is actually the problem. The book and sales letter were geared towards dog diets (how to put your dog on a diet) and the root keywords they suggested were dog diet. However my research later told me that people were actually looking for specific eating plans for their dogs-not a diet plan for weight loss.
The membership site touts the fact that they do the initial keyword search for you and provide you with professionally researched root keywords for each product. I feel that this was a bit "off" for lack of a better word...
So...I thought I would make some changes and add an affiliate page to the site. I wanted to move my sales page and book off the index page and replace it with more of a content type page that would have links to the sales letter as well as a link to an affiliate store. Problem I am finding is that since I have the main site url listed on my clickbank account. This isn't something I understand that I can change with clickbank.
All the while I have affiliates signing up in droves to promote this book which isn't converting. Haven't even gotten any additional sign-ups to the list.
Originally I had considered dropping this promotion if the PPC results didn't prove promising but now I have affiliates and a itty bitty list that I feel a responsiblity to. Just am not certain what to do or which way to go from here.
I need a site review but can't post my link just yet...need 4 more forum posts for that .
In addition, I have recently discovered that some of the affiliates are copying my sales letter (with pic's and all) and posting it to their sites for promo purposes. I don't know what to do about that but, from what I have read (Ros's book in addition to many other IM books) that this is NOT acceptable.
I feel like I have a big mess here so any guidance anyone is willing to give would be most appreciated.
Glad to be here!

Hello and welcome to the NPT forum Lilly.
Have you tried expanding your keyword list a little.. like say, 'fat dog'. Only Eukanuba.com is advertising on that at the moment.
Until we can see your site though, it's going to be difficult to make a recommendation.
Feel free to add the URL in your response to this post and I'm sure that someone (if not me) will take a look and let you know what the problem is.
Just don't give up yet, 'cause it sounds like you could be on the right track.
Cheers,
Ros |

Hi Ros,
Thanks for the encouragement. I did attempt to add my url initially but received an error message that I had to have 5 posts before I could post a url.
My site is healthiestdogdiets and it is a dot com .
The gift site is healthiestdogdiets/petgifts.
It would be a great help, and much appreciated, to receive some feedback.
Thanks,
Lilly |

| Your site looks very clean. I would recommend you put a picture of the book on the site. People don't like to buy what they cannot see. |
