| Well here goes! This is the first forum I have ever been involved with and I am really unsure what to do.I really enjoy reading all the information every one writes and find some of the info very helpful.I am a"Newbie"in internet marketing since 7/7/2007 and have not made any money as of yet,but I haven't expected to. I have spent most of my time building a site and doing a lot of research.I really haven't found my niche, for sure yet,but I know I can do every thing I need to do to succeed and I will make a real effort to get this done.Thank you for letting me do my first forum with you all and now I'm not so unsure now.I just jumped another hurdle.Great!! |

Welcome aboard, Granneanne!
Keep jumping those hurdles, the finish line is up ahead! Don't worry that you haven't made anything yet, as you have not found your niche, and IM success doesn't happen over night for most people.
If you don't mind me asking: with no solid niche, what are you buildiing on your site (or your site on), or are you mainly setting up the overall look & feel, templates, css or what? Many times the actual niche will dictate how the site will appear. Not being critical here, just curious.
You also have the confidence factor going for you and that's great! It will help you with the building process and that first sale will be so-o-o-o-o sweet! I remember my first sale. It was only for $7, but it felt like a million because it proved to me that I could do it, and put my confidence over the top!
Again, welcome, and please don't hesitate to ask and share! |

| I thank you for your responce to my first forum.I only know that I find it very satisfying doing research and finding out that it is possible to make money on the internet.I don't mind telling you that I know a bit about heirloom tomatoes and the niche is not overly saturated, so I am setting up an informational site and playing around just to see what I can come up with.I really want to build an affiliate site because I don't have a product of my own yet and I find affiliate marketing very interesting. I have a lot of hard work ahead of me and I trying to get a good hold on every thing.Again, thank you GriffG,You made my day!!Granneanne |

WOW! I've never heard of an heirloom tomato. How do you preserve them so you can hand 'em down from generation to generation!?! (JK !)
Sounds like you've got a great subject to build a business on! Since you know about the subject, you're on step ahead on it from a research standpoint. So, take that knowledge and combine it with your desire to do affiliate marketing. The only thing I know about gardening is that if I DON'T try to help stuff grow, it grows, if I TRY to help it grow, it dies, I've got the original black thumb, hehheh. I plant the seeds in the garden and just leave it alone 'til harvest and it actually works out OK.
Anyway, if you haven't gotten too far along on your site, you may want to consider a blog. You do it for free with a Google Blogger blog (and by having a Blogger blog, you'll have an easy time getting approved for Adsense and Adwords (more on this another time)).
Then, look for affiliate market vendors in the tomato / gardening genre ie tools, fertilizer, seeds, whatever. Get your affiliate and Adsense accounts set up and published on the blog, and get it rolling until you get your full-blown site finished. That way you can start drawing your traffic with the blog. Once your site is published, you can route your blog traffic to it, have your all your affiliations and Adsense, etc. on it too, and build pages with more specific information and to promote more specifically related products.
Let us know how it goes for you, one person's success is another person's motivation! |
