Hello, I would appreciate help with this question. I have no problem with one blog, but I am interested in creating more than one Wordpress Blog refering to different topics.

Any advice would be helpful.

Thank you.

Hello Terry

Since WordPress uses a separate database for each blog installation, you are left with several options. The best option would be to have the new blog on a separate domain. That way you can keep the topics completely separate.

However, if for some reason you are limited to one domain, you can create a sub-domain for each blog. You could have dietary.your-site.com, travel.your-site.com, affiliates.your-site.com, etc. They would be separated by their name.

Hope that helps.

Thank you very much for that idea!

I should have thought of that myself as I use subdomains for other sites, but I never thought about useing that method for blogging.

Thank you very much!

All the Best!

Hi Guys,

Just a side note...

Quote:
Since WordPress uses a separate database for each blog installation

You can use the same database for multiple blogs.
It saves time when backing up, and is good if you
have a limit on the number of databases you can have.

If your blogs are on the same host, subdomain or not,
this should work fine.
The way you do it is, during a wordpress installation,
you have the option to name the tables in your database.
If you use the same database name, user, password, etc.
and then add prefixes to the tables for each blog.
(They can even be descriptive prefixes)
Then the blogs will use the same databases,
and not interfere with each other.

Just a thought Wink
Hope it helps!
Brad.
