Hi Grumpy - I have read Roz's book, as i read all the books I review for my site and blog. And I can honestly say it is the best book I have read on Internet Marketing.
But you are right about some of the so called "Guru's" who write books when they haven't got a clue what they're doing. I saw one by someone who claimed to have learned how to make money online through reading someone elses book - made a fortune themselves - then wrote a "cheaper ebook" show everyone how to do it.
And the biggest laugh is - guess how long it took from reading the first ebook, to selling the first copy of their own? 4 months!! That's right. She read a book, built a site, made loads of money and wrote an ebook in just for months. Remarkable. Not really believable though.
I just wrote an article for my site on how to spot these fraudsters. |

Hello Grumpyoldman.
What you are saying is very logical indeed. Knowledge, education, how you learn - all these things can be obstacles.
But that is where the similarity ends. Why? The problem is logic itself. Up until this point, everything you know tells you its not logical. This leads you to believe its very unlikely, or even impossible.
And thus, belief is the true obstacle. The purpose of believe.. is to overcome logic. This lets you do what you need to change your knowledge, to fail time and time again. The more you fail, the more you will learn. And every human that was ever born on this planet can learn.
We live in a unique age in human history. An age where for the first time, a civilization exists which allows anyone to overcome, to change, their environment, and do what they want.
Yet a large number of people never fully realize this. First, you must struggle. Work. Toil. But to struggle, you must try. And to try, you must believe its possible - even when all logic, knowledge, education, and everything else tells you its impossible. Try, without quitting. Again, whether its possible or not - your chances are greater when you try and fail, than not trying at all.
You see, you must believe. This is something you can decide to do. You can stop your thoughts, stop your past, stop time, and believe. Decide that you can control your thoughts.
When you do this, you realize there is only one true limitation in what we perceive as the world. The false one which we create in our mind. Don't let it take any more time. Tell it "your wrong, and I'm going to prove it". Then try, fail, and don't quit.
Many people have far less education than what you have mentioned. Many people have far fewer capabilities. Few of the people I know understand anything about a motor. Or how to transverse the arbitrary rule differences which exist in another language. But these people still accomplish what they desire because of a mental trick they use without even being aware of it - They don't believe they know enough to know they can't do it!
And that is fact. No one knows enough, to know they can't do something. Not even people who have tried, and failed, for decades. There is no case in all of human history which proves otherwise.
| Quote: | | I agree with you about positive attitude. Trouble is, no-one can tell me where you get one from. |
So you see, it comes from you. Your mind. Your conscious mind. It is a decision, you can think, and make. Your subconscious mind may tell you No. Your unique chemical and hormonal balance may tell you No. Everyone in your real life may have told you No. But you can think - Yes. Try it once - Just say to yourself - Yes I can. When you do that, you have superseded logic. Usurped it. Gone beyond it. Made it irrelevant.
You only need to learn one thing to succeed.
How to Believe in Yourself.
Whats ironic; you have actually spent your entire life doing just that. The sum of all your experiences, the sum of all your education, all of it has told you about yourself. Just waiting to put it all together in the right way, and realize this is what it all leads to.
But read these anyway, just to see what it feels like.

And about NVU - you mentioned trying photoshop. So try DHE Editor instead of NVU. Its a simple version of photoshop, made specifically for drawing webpages.
You don't use any code, you don't need to do anything to put things where you want them. You just draw.

And please, choose to believe. Every single person here, and 99% of the others you encounter, want you to - because we all know it is possible. Some of the most unfortunate people in the worst situations in recorded history believed, and ultimately succeeded because of it.
Choose to believe.

| Hi Kevin - inspirational advice. But, I've got to ask - how did you learn to stop time? If it's possible, I want to know how please. |

LOL!
Well, lets just say our perception of time (which is regarded by some as an illusion anyway) shifts to a focus on 'the present' when we are making progress on a task or goal. |

| I see. I was getting excited there too. It would be nice to stop time - even just for a couple of weeks. |
