Believe it or not, I just logged on to ask this very same question.
I am using Wordpress for my blog, and they give you some ok templates, but I'd like the blog to have the same logo and look and feel as my website. Yea, just like Rosalind's.
How do you do that? |

Can someone tell me if I am posting in the wrong forum section. It doesn't appear anyone is responding or knows how.
Where can I go to find an answer to this question.
thank you |

Hi all,
I'll take that as a compliment.
This site is pretty much all hand-crafted as I like to tinker around with my site's design.
The header is a composite of a background that I found somewhere with my photo superimposed and I've just played around with the colors in the CSS (cascading style sheets) to change the font faces, sizes and colors.
If you don't want to get into 'tweaking' there are excellent templates available for Wordpress free of charge at:
http://themes.wordpress.net/
Otherwise, there are some excellent CSS tutorials at:
http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp
Hope that helps!
Cheers,
Ros |

Thanks for the link Roz. I am hopeless at design. In fact I'm so bad, one of my friends just emailed me after seeing one of my sites and said he "loved my content, even though the design was not as good as the other sites on the internet". Surely, I can't be as bad as ALL the other sites on the internet? I keep looking at the Wayback machine to convince myself that I've improved since the nineties. and I hope I have - just a little bit.
Anyway, I'm just having a header made on elance, and your site was one of the examples I gave them, because I like the way you have the cool patterns in the background. But, I'm going to have a go with CSS on couple of other sites and see what I can do. Cheers.

Hi Catherine,
May I be so bold as to suggest that you may want to look at a different color scheme as well?
That baby-poop runny-mustard color is kind of a turn-off right from the get-go and not a color often associated with business or making money.
Then again --- neither is red (not in a good way, anyway).
Cheers,
Ros |

|
|
I have been reading the SUPER Affiliate handbook and am having trouble understanding the instruction about Wordpress. I get the impressions that Rosalind uses Wordpress as a CMS but she does not clearly explain. She mentions here that she has tweeked the html on her site but does not specify if she has tweeked Wordpress theme or some other template. She gives the impression that her website is constructed with Wordpress and the directories seem to indicate that but it is not clear.
The SUPER Affiliate handbook makes it look easy but I get the impression some details have been left out.
Here are my questions:
Are the Sage-hearts and netprofitstoday website constructed with tweeked Wordpress themes or is another type of CMS program being used?
If another CMS is being used what is it.
If CMS is being used why is a dicussion of CMS not mentioned in SUPER Affiliate handbook?

Thanks Roz - I'm also really bad with colour. I thought my blog looked orange and gold - not poop coloured! I really wanted purple and gold for it, but I tried for days and I couldn't get the shade of purple right.
I think the red you have is a good colour for your site - especially with white writing. Those colours never did Coke any harm. |

Ros - I've just checked and I see what you mean - the bits on the front page that were meant to be gold look mustard.
My kids have just bought photoshop, and I've been having a play around with it but it seems so complicated. Hopefully they will suss it out quickly and help me. |

I just asked the same question as well!
Unfortunately I cannot use Wordpress. I use Godaddy as a host and use their windows server. I can either change to Godaddy's Linux server for Wordpress or use something else. They do have a Windows server compatible blog that I signed up for but I have to teach myself to use it. I probably won't do that until I build a lot more content for my site. Right now my blog is at blogger and is fed to my site with an RSS feed. I hate it, but I don't know what more to do. |

Crouton,
Is there some reason you have to use GoDaddy, and some reason you have to use Windows hosting?
While it seems intimidating, most of the better web hosts will help you transfer your site.
I had a couple of sites at GoDaddy until recently. Moving them took less than an hour, but I had them backed up.
Don't depend on your web host to do back ups by the way....
All sucess,
Lowell |

You link is very useful.
As I have just installed a new wordpress blog but is in standard theme. I am planning to load the one you suggested in the wordpress site.
How I long to have Ros's skills to do the site like her.
Do you have any standard method to plan your site ? One product for one site/ or many products for one site would be more effective.
Regards,
Steven Yap |

Hello dcsingleton
On page 62 of the Super Affiliate Handbook you will find reference to ArticleLive, the CMS that I use for my article database here on NPT.
You will even find a link to the software at the bottom of the homepage.
I also discuss it more in the blog.
The other CMS I use is a Wordpress blog... and I use that on all my sites. Here at NPT, Sage-Hearts, Roamsters and RosalindGardner.com.
They all look different because I use different Wordpress themes and then tweak the heck out of the CSS (cascading style sheets).
I hope that helps.
Cheers,
Ros |
