|
|
I signed up with a merchant as an affiliate.
The merchant provides a branded website. I am about to register a domain name. My question is if to start with all I am doing is ppc such as adwords or even other ppc advertisers, do I need to have a hosting account? In other words will it work if I just use my affiliate link and domain name as the destination and display URLs?
Also, I remember hearing that if you transfer a domain name to a hosting company different than the company that you registered it with, it would not be usable for 60 days. This does not make sense to me. If that is the case, I would be better off using Go daddy for my hosting as they are the ones I am registering with.
Thank You

Brian, I suggest you to build a squeeze page to capture emails and addresses, because if these people buy directly from the merchant page you'll never can contact them to offer another product.
In this case you need a domain name and a hosting account and then you tell everything you want about the product you are offering and if they want to know more they have to sign up.
Using Adwords you have to send people to a page where you are selling something, you could ask permission to the merchant to place the order button on your page.
You can register a domain name with almost any company and transfer it to any webhosting and it is ready to use in less than 72 hours. I do it always without problems. |
