The reason so many are using article marketing is because it works. I'm interested in your experiences with article marketing.

Do you have any tips or strategies you would like to share that have made article marketing work well for you?

Well, a couple off the bat:

NEVER less than 300 words. 500 and up is better.

At least 3% of your word count should be relevant targeted keywords.

Post to a handful of the top directories like GoArticles and EzineArticles for best exposure and best use of your time!

But according to the article marketer submission service, one should write an article of about 700 words.

300 is really barebones and more often not accepted. 700 is a nice safe number to shoot for!

Hi there,

I'd like to share a simple tip - why not write articles containing UNIQUE, HELPFUL content directed at prospective customers? So, a summary or abstract of a more detailed article on your site, of about 700 words WITH the right keyword density, but intended to cultivate the trust you need to make the sale. Eventually you DO want to make a sale, right?

Good Luck!

I have posted several articles on various article banks. How long does it take to start getting noticed?

Hey PJP!

How long ago did you submit to the directories?

It really kind of depends on which directories you have submitted to, and how well you have targeted your article content. Different things will come into play that affect how rapidly your articles get noticed.

Most good directories have staff that actually read the submissions prior to publishing them. While my article directory submissions are not massive, I have experienced anywhere from 1 to 8 weeks, with the average being around 3 weeks waiting for a human's approval. (I have noticed too, that as more of my articles are accepted by certain directories, the speed in which they are approved increases. Quality content WILL find it's way out faster.)

It also depends upon the subject matter, e.g. how relevant the subject is. Is the subject currently popular in today's headlines or social circles, or is it directed at a smaller targeted niche?

Did you select the best possible category for that article to be submitted under? Many people have trouble figuring out what "light" their article is best read under, and mis-categorize them.

Are you linking to any of them via your site/blog/etc.? This can help bring your articles to the eyes of the masses, too.

Please keep us posted on your progress!

Just to let you know Dan, your sig-file link gives a 404 error when I click on it.

As to article marketing...

Very effective method...and I agree with Dan wholeheartedly. In addition...

Titles and resource boxes are the key to effective articles.

"3 Ways To..."
"How To..."
"If You/Then You..."

All good title starters.

Resource boxes...

Write good copy here if you are selling a click to a link...don't give an "author's resource box" like:
