Hi everyone:
Am just trying out this whole affiliate idea by promoting an e-book on Google adwords. Found out that with the July 2006 changes to Google Adwords, you can't easily bid on having ads on the main Google search pages, just on other sites, but that is okay for me for now. Just trying out the process. If it works out, will look at creating a niche site, etc.
However, when I created the Clickbank hoplink to an e-book and tried inserting it into the ad, I kept getting prompted to cut out parts of it. Couldn't tell exactly what they wanted me to cut, so I experimented with cutting out part of the beginning (http stuff) but it still didn't work. Then started cutting from the back end. Had to cut the tracking ID. Anyone had a similar experience?

Did you ever get this resolved? Have you tried using a redirect to the ClickBank link?

Laurie,
WebSiteManagers might be right, you probably need a re-direct (cloaked page) if you're linking directly to your hoplink from google adwords. That's because of the "one serving" rule. If you're not sure how to do that you can learn more about it here:
