ok..so I went in and deleted it from my source code and even deleted it and uploaded it again from NVU and it STILL has the YaBB.pl on the end of it. I type in domainname. com and it comes up domainame. com/YaBB.pl. The page that comes up a is a hostgator 404 page. Its really getting irritating and I have tried everything (at least I think). Any other ideas?

If you end up on a 404 page, the url you were trying to reach isn't there.

Meaning,

if you surfed to yourdomain.com and end up on an 404 page of any kind, this tells you that you're missing the index.html file.

Tip!

When you try forums and other scripted things (blogs, bbs, galleries and more), always install it into a subdirectory like /blog or /bbs.

This will help you a lot as the installation will never break you normal website.

And if you use the cpanel/fantastico to install something, remember to never delete anything from the installation to remove the scripts. Use the same cpanel/fantastico menu, choose the stuff you installed and you should find the option, uninstall there!

If everything else fails, delete all files in your website root (the files, not directories inside public_html.

And put a new index.html in there and you should have a normal site again!

Ok. So it works on IE, but not on Firefox. The error page is coming up when I use Firefox. Any ideas why about that? And thanks for being patient with me as I am learning as I go.. Wink

Hmm Confused
That's a bit confusing if your using page builders.
Most are pretty cross compliant now-a-days.

How about letting us have a look?

It could be the browsers "default" 404 page that comes up because of the server not showing any page at all?

Just to explain what I am doing so that you can help me more....

I am building web page thru yahoo page builder, NOT the HTML way, but just by putting in text, graphics, etc.I then go into file manager and copy the html file and paste it into NVU. That is where I save it and then upload it through my cpanel.

Like I said, when I type in url of site on IE, its comes up fine, but when I do it on Firefox, thats where they error page comes into play.

Here is url, but just remember, website is still in early stages..hee hee Wink

www.womensdietandfitness.com

If you could, type it into IE and firefox so you can see what my problem is..thanks!

NICE!!!
VERY well done so far!!
(... always a work in progress though)
You got a good eye for layout Very Happy

So, it is displaying perfectly in both browsers.
If you have still been working on it,
then I'd say you got it.
... what was it? Wink

But if per chance, your still seeing it differently,
you might need to clear your browser's cache.
If so let us know.
I forget how, but someone knows how I'm sure.

Your doing great!
Brad.
