The answer your looking for is
Dynamic Linking!!
Hey Shaners,
Are you on my list yet?
You want to be properly introduced to this?
See sig file for link
I have a secret weapon,
but I won't name drop or something tacky.
Instead...
It's "worth" your "time",
the only true commodity you have,
I promise.
Cheers!

I would say that the reason for the no follow tag is to cut down on spam and to increase page rank...
The no follow tag is now frequently used on blogs and forums to discourage spam post. They can also be used on your site to help boost your page rank with Google.
Using the no follow tag tells the search engines that you do not want those links to count... for your site, or the link posters site.
Since most spam links are stuffed with keywords, those sites doing the posting will not benefit from the search engines with these post.
Also, if your have a lot of affiliate links on a web page, you may want to used this tag to cut down on the number of links you have going out verses coming in. This can boost you PR
Google, Yahoo, and MSN now support the no follow tag.
I see Ros has them on her blog, I didn't see them any where else...
I don't know anything about the dynamic linking aspect, Brad can you give us a little more on this.
Thanks Greg |

Hi Guys!
Greg, I think your getting 2 types of nofollow mixed up.
See, there’s the meta tag used instead of a robots.txt,
ie:
<META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW">
This is used to stop the se’s from crawling your site at all.
Then there is the nofollow tag for links.
ie:
<a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.site.com/page.html" >Visit My Page</a>
This just keeps the se’s from crawling that link.
Your right about the se’s as well.
Google gave this to us, MSN and Yahoo joined in shortly.
So, because they gave it to us, they can choose to ignore it.
And you know Google wants to catalog the whole www .
I like more control than that.
Dynamic linking refers to doing it with styles.
ie:
To make dynamic text links, put this in your head tag:
<style>.NAME {cursor:pointer;cursor:hand;text-decoration: underline;color:blue;}</style>
Then paste this line into your body tag, where you want the link to go.
<span class="NAME" onclick="window.location='http://www.your-url.com/your-page.html'">your link text</span>
Note: The need for both cursor:pointer and cursor:hand is to satisfy both standard and IE5 browsers.
And your right... It’s all about PR
This is just a super small part,
I’m actually talking about your entire linking structure
based on your theme and your keywords.
And that’s just too much for a post like this.
So, I’ll say it again.
See sig file for link
Cheers!

Wheres the love?
Isn't this whats commonly being referred to as link hogging. A number of the bigger and better, or most well rounded bloggers (copy blogger, problogger and yaro starak)almost categorically say to link out to other blogs and sites, id have to re-read their posts and see what they have to say about aff links though.
Even still, your affiliates need love too!!! So lets wrap our big arms around our affiliates and show them some LOVE!!!! Though I don't really get the whole dynamic linking thingy. Other than conserving "PR" Correct me if I'm wrong but if someone likes your content, they're going to link to you more than likely without regard for your "PR". And from what I have read one of the better strategies for for gaining links is to link out as well.
Cheers and Beers from Cold snowy Ottawa. (little earlier for berr inst it, ok so Cheers and mocha's it is !! |

This is all about "link reputation"
and "content relatability".
It's true.
The ones who will be rewarded in the world of web v2.0
are the ones that HELP spread the information around.
But, picking and choosing is part of the structure.
AND, it's a bit different when you're as established as copyblogger.
Every link out bleeds off your pr.
And if linking is not done properly,
it can ruin your chances of ANY rank in the results.

Yup.
This is the reason "link trading"
is mostly a time trap.
And just NOT a good idea for your own site.

Come on Shaners.
Your sending them customers!
And feeding thier wallets screams of love!
Every single link out should be monetized.
Or be used to spread the precious pr juice
where you WANT it to go.
ie: another one of YOUR sites.
That's the way your competition is doing it!
Believe it!

~scratches his head~ fog of war setting in I guess....ok I clearly DON'T get the PR conservationist movement. I think what I don't get is WHY do links out "bleed off PR". I understand that you would obviously want someone to link out to your site, and I do get that blocking links out to Affliate merchants might be an acceptable thingy (sorry Ros) I really dont get why you think this is a time trap. It takes no time at all to do or have done to you...Ok this may sound naive but if everyone were to closely covet their PR in this fashion, then how on earth would Pr happen. The SE's would have nothing to crawl. Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to be adversarial. I really don't get it.
Perhaps you could refer me to a source that explains it all in detail. i dont want to clutter up all you time answer in posts.
PS theres no link in your sig file for your news letter dude |

Hey Shaners,
I wanted to drop a quick note to let you know
I haven't fogotten about this thread.
In fact, it's lit a fire for me,
I'm trying my hardest for you.
But things just keep happening!
... ya know?
(life comes in waves, LOL)
I'm looking at a week or two still,
so I thought I'd write this note.
I do want you to know,
this forum is going to be notified first,
and will have a HUGE advantage.
All in the plan
I also have to say,
you DID make me realize something.
I DO have a "secret source".
Letting it out would be huge!
And I always hated it when I
found that others had "secrets".
(or, I just thought it was hype)
I feel bad about it.
So, you should be getting
an email from me tomorrow.
Can YOU keep a secret?
You've been HUGE for this community,
and I respect that.
Thanks bro!
Chat Later!
Brad.
p.s.
So...
How then did you get on my list, Dude?
