I am new to affiliate marketing and have been kicking pebbles around for to long. I have read the Bible of Affiliate Marketing and still am not confident in what I think. My main problem is getting started with a product, niche whatever. How do I know when a product or niche is worth investing the time to set everything up?

Do I stick to small one page sales letters or do a multi page site recommending various items people can try for certain niches?

I am presently doing a site with SBI and once that is set up I would like to try creating sites on my own using Xsitepro since many people are happy with that product. But by using this product, what is the best hosting company people are finding (of course BEST means cost effective but still with the bells and whistles needed) to use?

You see, a typical newbie here just lost in the world of Internet Marketing. Not sure where to start, how to start and with what product (this is the biggest on). I have tried the Word Tracker thing and a lot of other ways, just everything looks like it is fully supplied or not worth trying.. Arrghhh.

Anyway, I will stop venting and hopefully someone out there can help pointing me to a good host company that is set up for multiple websites, email address' etc....

Thanks so much for your time and listening!

Duane,

As far as the niche you pick I think maybe you should re-read the SAH. As for the type of site it depends on what you are trying to do. A one page salesletter site is great if you are selling a stand alone info product. For a multi page mini-site like you might make with Xsitepro you are more than likely going to review multiple affiliate items.

That said, if you are unsure which way to go I suggest you start with a WordPress blogs and a hosting company that offers the Fantastico suite so that installation of your blogs is easy. No program to buy for site design, many free themes and plugins are available to customize your site.

I think people agonize too much about hosting companies. The most important thing for me is customer service. The excess bandwidth and storage offered goes mostly unused by most customers.

Many people are happy with Hostgator. I don't use them myself but know quite a few marketers that do.

Hope this helps.
