Seems like there's a lot of hype recently about audio books.
Some of the "gurus" say that internet content with audio is the next big thing online. Some says readers won't be satisfied just by reading text online. They seems to say that you are missing out a lot of cash if you don't put up videos or audio in your website. They CLAIM its the next big thing. Is it just hype or what?
Well, personally I don't like to hear "people talking in a website". I prefer to read words and text only. I find it irritating when I load a page, and the voice of that person promoting his website can be heard.
What do you all think?
It would be great Miss Rosalind can comment on this Audio thingy. |

I find it really irritating too when I load up a web page and some audio voice starts talking. I usually just surf away from those kind of pages. I think that what they mean by audio being the next big thing is audio books.
With everyone owning Ipods and mp3 players or any other personal audio device. It makes sence that anything audio will be a hot product including audio books.
Don't you wish that you could have had an audio book for all the internet marketing information that you recieve. I do then I wouldn't be restricted to my computer to soak it in, I could listen to it anywhere. |

Hmmm, audio books might be the next big commodity in IM.
Anybody jumping into the wagon? |

Hmmm.. indeed.
I think people like having the choice to listen or read.
Personally however, I immediately close out of any site that BLARES out of my speakers or into my headset the moment it opens. Think that's just the rudest thing.
But audio books... yes, selling them alongside traditional text versions is probably a very wise thing to do.
Cheers,

I just looked for an offer I received so I could share it.
I can't find it, but I'll keep my eye out for it.
(and I'm sure it's not the only one I'll receive )
It was about the "audio boom" online.
It's true, I'm sure of it!
However, audio books have been around for a long time.
And they never REALLY took off.
The internet provides a new avenue for distribution,
and a different perspective can be used.
But, imho, I think it only has a limited value.
If someone wants to study something,
they will, no matter what the available media type.
In my car, I need music.
I think someone who jogs with an mp3 player
might feel the same about that time.
And when I do listen to an audio lesson,
I generally take notes anyway
I stepped right past audio as an option to explore.
MY belief, is that in another 5 or 10 years MAX,
you won't be able to tell your pc from your tv.
Video is the next wave online!
And therefore, the reason I'm currently stuck in codec H@%*!!
... Nobody said being an actor was part of the deal
BUT, I'm enjoying it.
(if I repeat it enough, I might start to believe it. lol )
Brad. |
