We wanted to do a kids/parent site and I know there's alot of different things offered, but we keep adding more and will add more baby and teen areas in a while. Our main focus in about kids but I wanted to offer stuff for the parents too. Thanks for any input!
Sorry, it would probably help to have the site!!

Hi Jodi,
I'm a mod here, deleted your post without the link.
I like your inner pages more than the home page. I think you're trying to do too much on the home page. How long has your site been live? How are you doing with it? Most of all congratulations on getting your project going.
I'm big on list building, so I think you should feature your subscribe box, above where the Adsense block is. Don't hide your subscribe box on another page. In the long run your list should make you way more money than Adsense ads.
And almost forgot, welcome to the forum!
Regards,
Lowell |

Thanks! Can you expand a little about why you think there is too much. By too much, do you mean what I offer on the left hand column or the length of the page itself. Maybe in that area, I can put a smaller blurp and lead them to another page with the same info, just not on the frontpage. Is that what you mean?
Thanks |

Jodi,
This is all my opinion, hope you get some feedback from others, and don't get discouraged, but study and learn. What you've done by taking action, puts you way ahead of most people who read and dream, but don't do.
You have school days, books for kids, soccer moms, and halloween fun all on the home page. The older articles would all be better on their own inside pages.
I also think there's not enough content for all the banners on the page. Too many links on the home page lead your visitors out of your site. I like to lead visitors in.
You've got banners everywhere, but you're not telling people why they should click them. Too many banners on a page tend to turn people away, IMO.
For an example of what I'm talking about see Ros's
http://www.sage-hearts.com
See how she leads you into her site before she takes you away on a money making affiliate link.
Hope this helps,
Lowell |
