Hi All,

I've been doing Affiliate and Internet marketing since late 1997, (full-time since early 2000), earn a GREAT living at it, and I STILL learn new things everyday from my colleagues; and through online research, new books and seminars.

As always, I'll share what I learn with you, and hope you'll do likewise for our forum members.

Planning to attend a conference in the near future? If we're going too, we can make plans to 'hook up'.

One can never get to know too much (besides when entering rooms without knocking first!)

I love reading, learning and testing new things.

My fav place to get new knowledge is www.audible.com

You can buy audiobooks for a very low price. And with the right mp3 player (must support audible licensing), can you take the book on the move.

There are a lot of bussiness, marketing and related audiobooks there and the price is quite good.

Books like the Rich Dad series, Betting Things Done, Poject management, Goal Setting and Self Development titles about memory, health and more are parts of the inventory.

I buy 2 each month and have done so for several years.

I went to the System Seminar in May 2005 and it really opened my eyes to online marketing. I've been in IT/Telecom Sales and Marketing for years and it hit me that with the internet you don't need to make those dreaded cold calls. Instead, use the "pull" of the internet to help your customers find you.

Sounds obvious to some of you, but it took me until now to wake up - and I'm an old dog who's been online since before the web was in existence.

Affiliate Marketing fits in well with this concept too, as affiliates help the merchants pull the customers in. I had purchased and read Ros' book before the seminar and that helped put this in perspective.

Seminar tips:
- Anyone going to a seminar might want to do some reading beforehand to get the max. value of the material.
- Network like mad. Don't sit alone in your hotel room after the meetings - get out and meet other people. You'll be amazed at how many interesting business ideas are out there and how much you have in common with other attendees.

Hi,

I'm actually going to my first seminar, Yanik Silver's underground marketing one in Washington D.C in March next year.

It's a lot of money and I can barely afford it but I figure I need to invest and think big if I'm going to make internet marketing my future full time income.

Ros, do you have any advise for seminar newbie's like myself?

Last January, I wrote an article called "Prepare to Meet Your Mentor" which you might like to check out.

Other than that, plan to attend ALL the presentations, and bring a pen loaded with lots of ink. Although you'll receive a binder which includes the presentation outlines (or even the full presentation), you'll want to make notes of points that really strike you as important.

Talk to people. I was quite surprised by the fact that a majority of Yanik's audience was already doing business online. So, in addition to the presenters, they're a very useful resource of information. You may also meet people with whom to do JV's, or maintain contact with for ongoing mutual business support.

I get "invited" to Yaniks seminars a lot.
I dont consider myself knowledgable in on-line marketing so its a question if his stuff is over my head.

Rosiland, what do you think. Should a beginner take advantage of his seminars ?

If you want to see what a seminar by Yanik is like, you can watch some of his other seminars that were recorded and put on YouTube. You can do the same for other popular marketers too.
