I use Mambo for one of my portal sites: www.bingofunorama.com
Mambo is just about the same as Joomla. Ticked off Mambo developers broke off and developed Joomla using the Mambo open source code. Once it's up and running it's pretty easy to add nice mods and customize it. Adding your content is simple. As Rosalind mentioned make sure you have the latest version so if your using fantastico to install make sure your host has the latest scripts before you install. I worry about SEO with Mambo/Joomla but my site is indexed although it's only PR2 
I played with drupal and I found it tough to customize so I stuck with mambo/joomla. So IMHO Mambo/Joomla is the best CMS. I use WordPress for my blogs and I love it. I was using Google's blogger but WordPress is much better. |
