Hi, I am relatively new to blogs and rss.

I have a couple of questions:

1) Is there a way to know how many people subscribe to my rss feed?
2) Is there a way to edit/delete older (archived) postings made in the blog?
3) Is rss feed created automatically when a blog posting is made or do I have to create it manually?

Thanks for your answers,

Sincerely,

1) Check your website statistics / logs. Any access to your feed will be logged.

2 & 3) Depends on your blogging software, but the likely answer is "yes" to both.

Hi Will,

Thanks for your reply.

1) You're saying to look at the traffic stats, but that wouldn't show me the number of subscribers, just the number of visitors, right? That is not the same things, is it?

2) Do you have any suggestions for the blogging software which lets creating blog on my own domain?

Sincerely,

Serge

1) Website stats will only show hits on the feed. It won't show how many people are subscribed to the feed. You may be able to a third party to try and track how many subscribers, but then it might only track subscribers through their own service.

2) Wordpress is excellent, free and would be my recommendation to anyone wanting a blog.

Go to feedburner.com
you'll get the code snippet and pretty little feed boxes to put on your site
