Using adsense to get googlebot to your site

I'm not sure if this is going to make anysense. I was chatting with a fellow web publisher. And he asked me when I got indexed. SO we went to my stats page and scrolled through it till we found googlebot on it. We were chatting about a few other things namely adsense so we logged into my account. I was curious when I first started using adsense as well. Now this just might be date coincident But it was apporx a week or so after adsense got placed on my site that googlebot started to come around. Not sure if this really means anything. But could it be a tool to get indexed quicker (quickly)

It's not supposed to make any difference and you can hear that from Google directly. However, there are different opinions floating around e.g. 1, 2.

The different Google spiders now share information with each other as it saves resources and needless duplication of effort. Don't forget that Google has to visit your site in order to determine what kind of ads to show in your AdSense blocks.
