Hello all,
I have had a newsletter on my site for a bit now, and I do have a nice forum. I think it is time for the blog, but I would love to know what everyone thinks of combining the two. Putting the newsletter articles in the blog so people can comment on them.
Are there any disadvantages to doing this?
Just curious.
Thanks

Joe,
I think its a good idea. Look at this site, Ros has her articles and also her blog. You can make your blog shorter and less formal, this is a techniques many large organizations are using to give a 'human' face to their website.
Also, a decent blogging software comes with RSS feeds so that's an extra distribution channel for you.
Comments are always good, its like dynamic content for your site for free! Just make sure they're moderated... |

Hello Joe,
I've migrated all my newsletters into my blog now... and you'll notice that when you visit different sections of the site that the 'newsletter' link points straight to that section of the blog, whereas the old newsletter is now called 'archives'.
Blogging is just so much easier from a functional standpoint, not to mention the added benefit of some nice search engine traffic and that community aspect as well.
Cheers,
Rosalind |
