This is my first post, and my question deals with building keyword lists. I am writing an e-course suitable to people looking for an attorney. Many people search online for attorneys by their local county or city. Since there are over 3000 counties and the same number of county seats nation wide, I figure that I might easily have anywhere from 30,000 to 120,000 possible combinations. For example, I will list the county and state and then one of five to twenty combinations to go along with that county and state.
Is there any program out there or way I can automate this process so I'm not typing in 30,000 to 120,000 different combinations? Basically I want to link up each of the 3000 counties with about 5 to 10 combinations of words. It makes for a long list of keywords, but when people look for an attorney, they often look locally.
I hope this makes sense. Thanks for any help I can get on this.

Hello Dan and Welcome!
E-Yikes! That's SOME keyword list.
I don't know of an automated way to do that, but someone else on the forum probably will.
I would probably do it my clunky way, with Excel.
First build a spreadsheet containing all the counties. Then in column number two I would paste keyword combination #1.
You know you can just click on the bottom right hand corner of a cell and drag it all the way down the column to have it repeat, right?
Then I'd do the same for the other combinations.
You'd have to cut and paste both columns into a text editor before putting them back in the spreadsheet for upload to Yahoo! Search Marketing or whoever.
Anyway, I hope that makes sense.
My question to you is... how do you monetize this site? Don't give away any secrets of course...
Cheers,
Ros |

Rosalind,
Thank you for the advice. I am brand new to Excel, but I'm sure I will become adept at using it sooner rather than later.
As far as monetizing my site, I plan to have a simple sales letter website where people can order the e-course. My plan is to also give them a small part of the course for free by having them sign up. That way I can begin to build my list. My first major source of marketing will be PPC. Once I get the basics of the website, e-course, autoresponder, and PPC advertising set up, I will look to JV's with other online sites that sell related law products. I also plan to be an affiliate for at least one other law related product that ties in well to my product.
I just wanted to also let you know that I ordered your Super Affilliate Handbook about a month ago. It really gave me direction and a step-by-step plan for how to get done what needs to get done. Since then I've been looking at your website and the sites you recommend. The resources you provide have been a big help. I would not be as far along as I am today without your help. Just wanted to say thanks.

Hi Dan,
Aaah, you plan to charge for the course. Great! I was getting a little worried there.
So happy to hear that the Super Affiliate Handbook has been good guidance for you.
Feel free to post a question whenever you need help!
Cheers,

I use "good keywords v2" (freeware) for this, it has a keyword phrase builder that allows you to enter 3 sets of words which can then be combined into all the possible combinations at the click of a button.

I just bought Keywords analyzer about a week ago. Yesterday I got upgrade (free) for the 5th version. It's a major upgrade actually. It can generate tens of thousand keywords searched on Google, yahoo, miva, and enhance including number of search, seah result, keywords bids, keywords in h1, meta etc.
I can also permutate keywords to make any combinations, mispelling etc.
Regards,
Indra
