I know this has probably been gone over before but I missed it.
{My assumptions}
I'm constructing a blog/site and want to get as much revenue from it as possible. If I include 'keywords' as I write the content the spiders will find them and 'rank' my blog/site accordingly. Adsense will use these keywords in selecting which ads to place on MY page(s).
{My questions}
If I 'link' to other sites (commercial/non-commercial) as a means to include more pertinent content - in keeping with my blog/site's stated purpose (to inform readers of new technology innovations & their profit potential) - will the 'spiders' crawl those pages also? If they do - will any 'keywords' on those pages be included in determining MY site's ranking/adsense ad selection?
If other people submit 'reviews' or 'posts' to my Blog/site - will the spiders use any keywords in those submissions as well? |

Any content that appears on your website may be used to determine your search engine ranking.
Any websites that you link to may also be used to determine your search engine ranking.
The only people who know this for certain are the search engines themselves. Likewise, they are the only ones who know when they change their behaviour in any aspect.
However, looking at it from a search engine's point of view, it would seem logically that a website in a particular niche is likely to link to and be linked from other sites in the same niche.
Think like a search engine. Consider what a search engine's goals are. |

Thanks Will.
I take then if I link to sites - the content of which is centered on lifestyles wherein high-priced 'toys' are discussed - the spiders will read appropriate keywords (such as Jaguar, gold, invest, etc) Adsense should, logically, assign ads dealing in that realm - which may be likely to pay more per click? |

| AdSense ads are context senstive to the content around them. Any influence the outbound links might have will probably be due the words you use to create the links. You don't have to have such outbound links in order to summon those particular ads, though. Just relevant content will suffice. |
