Our names are Mae and Bill. This is our first post in this forum. We are both enjoying our retirement. Smile Now that we have some time on our hands, we have read about affiliate marketing. Rosalind's book was recommended to us. We purchased and read the whole book and became enthused about the prospect of making some money on the internet.
Our Interests have been leaning to Women's & Men's Fashions also Fitness,Leisure and Travel. We have put our Newbie skills to a website targeting the above www.womensandmensfashions.com We would like to hear from you with your critique. Actually our site has been up for two months and has only generated pennies all from AdSense.
We look forward to your comments
Mae and Bill

Welcome Mae and Bill and Congratulations on your first web site!

Although you may wish to post your request for a critique in the "Request a Site Review" section for more attention, here are a couple of ideas to get you going (all recommended in the Super Affiliate Handbook).

The name of your site is different than the URL. That can be confusing to visitors and decreases the likelihood that they'll remember the URL to return to your site later.

I don't see an 'About Us' section.

The site is about fashion, yet I see travel and health & fitness prominently displayed on the upper navigation bar. Suggest you concentrate on fashion and accessories before doing travel, etc.

Break your site into categories such as shoes, outerwear, lingerie and all 'fashion' categories. Display those categories in navigation along the side to make it easier for folks to find what they are looking for.

That should be plenty to get you going! Smile

Cheers,
Rosalind

Hi Roslind and a Happy Easter to you and yours,
Thank you for your message. So kind of you to take the time to check out our web site and to give us your valued suggestions. We have made a copy of your message and plan on making the changes you recommended. Today we have registered a new domain name: meatfashions.com. This should be uploaded by our hosting server by next Tuesday. We have removed our travel and health and fitness pages off our web site. We hope to eventually put up two seperate web sites for these catagories as they are subjects of interest to us.
Thank you once again. We appreciate your input.

Hi Mae & Bill

Welcome to the best forum for affiliate marketing. One thing you might like to do with your site is move the hyperlink on your home page for the travel section.

You might also like to put something to seperate the different shops you are recommending, it might make them slightly more clear.

Keep going, you will find it becomes fun to learn and see your hard work pay off. We have only had pennies from google but yesterday we had 4 sales and quite high commission from them. My first advice is dont give up, keep building, and keep going.

Bev
