Hi everyone,
I have a few websites and just recently purchased Rosalind's Super Affiliate Handbook. It's great from what I've read so far.
My question is which of these is best :
1. When using pay per click search engines, is it best to drive people to your home page that has a newsletter sign up in the nav bar and a drop down sign up (see what I mean at http://www.skin-care-reviews.com), or ...
2. Is it best to send people to a newsletter page at your site dedicated to your newsletter only, or ...
3. Is it best to make a one or two page mini site separate from your regular site (different URL), send people there, and just try and obtain name and addresses for your newsletter ?
Your comments are welcomed.
Thank you. |

Hi Ken!
If your goal with this particular ppc campaign is to build your list, then I would go for option # 2 and send people directly to one page dedicated on your site for your newsletter signup.
Your page should have a nice welcome and an incentive for visitors to subscribe, such a free report or article tips based on the content of your site.
Make sure to ask for all relevant snail mail information, too, as this will prevent spammers from using the form. This also helps you to know that people who go through the trouble to fill out snail mail info are very interested in what you have to offer.
When you have their snail mail information, you can then implement a post-card campaign or some other offline marketing to this later on, if you choose.
Hope that helps!

Hello keblack,
Great question. I took a look at your sites, and they're exceptionally well done.
Re your question, I'd like to suggest option #4.
People who search for 'wrinkle prevention', should be sent directly to the Wrinkle101 page. They'll read the article, see (buy) the product and sign up for your newsletter.
If you're not getting signups, it might be because the content in the left nav on the skin care site is extending into the white space to the right... and the newsletter signup box is pushed all the way to the bottom.
That's why I like to put them at the top right hand corner of my pages, which has proven to be the best place for getting the most signups - in my experience.
I hope that helps!
Cheers,
Ros |
