Here's the plan... Answer the question asked by the person who posted before you, then ask one question yourself.
And here's the first question...
Q. What was your first job? If you've been 'deprived' of that experience, what do you want to be when you grow up? |
First job was picking strawberries and bean in a farmers field
What's the worst job you ever had? |

All jobs where I had to work for someone else.
I have been working for myself now for over 8 years now. Isn't it great?

My first job: Bonanza Steak House

They don't understand the process and or they just give up too darn easy!
My question for the next person: Have you thought about podcasting as a way of promoting yourself? |

Yes, I think podcasting would be a great way to promote.
My question for the next person:
Do you have a mapped out business plan? If so, how long were you in business before you created one? If you don't have a business plan, what has prevented you from creating one? |

Hiya my name is Ronnie
Wow a big Question if you think about it
Do I have a business plan mmm?
I suppose that depends of your definition i.e. A structured business plan with a specific product direction a working short term long term,
Or notional budget and project management program in place etc etc
Then no
A notional and variable directive for business growth then yes
In the offline world i have had two successful businesses utilising effective business plans however the bummer was i didn’t plan for getting cancer so that was the end of that hahahah
My plan from there was get back into business
To do that my first goal was to recover i was successful
My second was to learn computers took Bsc i was successful
The next was to get on line and figure out how to earn from the Internet
I am getting a very small amount of money so you could say successful
So it has been a long journey but now the planning has really just
started however its now harder than ever hahah.
I would say first plan to be successful for yourself then you’re off
I find that in the online world it takes baby steps find what works for you
Then convert your personal plan into your business plan.
Phew, i waffled their hahah
My first Job was on a fruit and veg horse and cart i fed the horse Bud
My question
How long has it taken you to get here |

Hmmm ... I believe every one of us has taken our entire lifetime to get to wherever we are today ...
The more down-to-earth answer - I've been in computer-related fields since the 80's, built my first website in '95. Decided to try my hand at affiliate marketing about a year ago. Built two sites which flopped miserably, built a third which did better, bought Rosalind's book (thank you!!! ), made some improvements, now get modest but steady profits from that site and a couple of others. Having been reinforced, I'm now looking to take things to the next level.
Question for the next person - If computers were suddenly banned, how would you spend your time? |

Hi all,
As I type this it's snowing in Vancouver! It's not even December yet... Let's just say the traffic person on the radio had to talk really quick this morning to report where all the fender benders were in order to fit them all in her allotted time.... When it snows it's so quiet (as opposed to rain)...
To answer the questions:
1. Where I am in the ecommerce process. In process of expanding an ebook I wrote, and have been selling online since mid-2001, on coaching. Plus have a dating review site and blog which I'm learning how to get traffic to...
2. The question: When you become Rich, whats the first thing you'll think of doing?
(Took out the word Filthy as focusing on those two words together will likely repel abundance...)
I did this exercise years ago, and do it in my mind from time to time, where you write down what you 'd do if you won $ 1 billion dollars. It's easier to do with $10 million...
- split three ways with my dad and brother (leaving me 3.3 million)
- buy a house ($700K in Vancouver) with a rentable suite or two
- invest ($ 1 million) and get a mentor to teach me how to invest
- start a foundation ($ 1 million)
- give approx. 10 friends and ticket seller approx. $50K each
- invite friends over for a big dinner
- go on a vacation
- professional development (System Seminar, mentor/coach), software, hire a techie
New Question: Is it best to create one or two sites based on topics you love/enjoy or create 10-15 niche sites based on popular or profitable topics? |

Susan -
I thought this was intriguing enough to start its own thread in the "Newbie's Corner"

Tee hee... and we all know that Vancouverites don't own shovels.
You might want to add "Snow Removal Service" to the list of things you'll buy with your 3.3 million, Sue.
BTW, it snowed all day here in Penticton, and there's all of an inch on the ground. Fortunately, I DO have a snow removal service... Danny - my friend's kid. (He just finished.)
I'll answer this one...

Egads, bar the thought... I might have to go out and get social. Otherwise, I'd probably write more books.
Next question... actually, that question is so good, let's keep it going...
Cheers,
Ros

You're right Rosalind. I saw a woman walking down the street with a shovel fashioned out of pieces of plywood... Not sure why she wasn't using it while she walked along the sidewalk...
To answer the question re: if computers were suddenly banned...
Self-publish a book or two (using gulp! a typewriter?! if you can still buy one...) and sell the books via classifieds and direct mail marketing...

Yikes, I totally forgot about the typewriter thing.
Given that, instead of writing, I'd probably move somewhere with white sand and a warm ocean and set up a lemonade stand.
Cheers,

Ooh, Good question
I would write, yes. But I would have to start from scratch on the book because all of my notes are on the computer - and all of the backups are digital - lol. I suppose I would go with a typewriter or word processor...
I think I would probably cook more and read more and take several vacations, too... perhaps even get serious about my gardening
That all might be nice, but I would miss it (my computer and my work) every day of my life I am sure. I can only imagine it would compare to quitting smoking (which is insanely tough).
My computer is the way that I shop, play in card tournaments, communicate with friends and family, journal, learn new things... and it is the way that I pursue a rewarding and enjoyable career.
It's definitely become a big part of my life over the last decade! |
