This is the 'Meet and Greet' posting area.
Here's the plan... Answer the question asked by the person who posted before you, then ask one question yourself.
And here's the first question...
Q. What was your first job? If you've been 'deprived' of that experience, what do you want to be when you grow up? |

A: Saturday boy in a major UK supermarket chain whilst still at school. I HATED it and always managed to spend the wages before I'd earnt them, so when pay-day came round I had to pay everyone back! Aaaaaaah!
(good Q, Ros! )
New Q: Do you think the Internet offers enough leverage for you to make a mint on your own, or do you / are you intending to recruit other people in your quest? |

I think you can make money working alone but I like to partner up with people too.
My question is: What is the number one way for someone with no capital to raise $5,000 in a hurry? (Must be legal, ethical ...) |

Hah! What a question to kill the thread!
Aren't we all here to learn something like that?
Question: What is your personal goal for your affiliate/internet marketing business?
(of course, you are welcome to answer cornersuite's question, if you know!)

Hello,
My goal is to pay off old debts and put together a large nest egg for the future!
Question: What has been the most profitable affiliate program you have promoted? |

That's easy - Rosalind's ebook! It's easy to promote something that is worth more than the price.
Q: Is it worth trying to protect your ebook from people copying it?

Hi everone,
Gretings from Holland
Anwser: I think that the 80 - 20 % roles counts hier - with 20 percent of effort you can protect your E-Book for 80 percent of risk.
Q: Where is the best articles resource? |

Hi y'all
Greetings from Dallas TX. I'm a mortgage broker who is completely new to internet marketing, and a techno idiot who still doesn't have website # 1. No programming skills, no HTML, don't know how to build a website, but MBA in marketing and finance and 20 years experience as a real estate developer and lender doing business offline. I've read Rosalind's excellent book and lot's of others and have also read lots of internet marketing, and Search Engine Optimization articles and books. I'm working up to bulding my first website and was wondering if anybody could recommend a good software program that will enable me to build some affiliate marketing websites without too much dificulty, or a good hosting company that supplies the software. After I get some affiliate marketing websites up will begin to publish original content offering financial and commercial real estate investing advice, education and JV opportunities. If anyone has any questions about finance or real estate, feel free to ask and I will do my best to help you out no charge. |

Hi, Al here from Australia
| Anders wrote: | | Q: Where is the best articles resource? | Never having used article resources, I don't know what is the best, but I subscribe to http://www.ideamarketers.com which seems pretty good.
My question is a difficult one. ClickBank does not seem to have any system in place to be able to contact affiliates - so my question is: Is there a way of being able to contact affiliates to send thank you notes and updates?
Kind regards - Al |

Steve in Dallas-
Thirdshere is a great hosting program, and you can host multiple sites on the same account. If you sign up under Roy Montero's affiliate link, he will guide you step-by-step through the process of setting up your site and Search Engine Optimization. His site is www.iwon.net.
Alpal- Answer: Nope, you cannot contact your affiliates within Clickbank, however you can with PayDotCom. (See, Ros, I'm being a good girl, and not posting my paydotcom aff. link!). You can read about Clickbank vs. PayDotCom on the Self Starter's forum here- http://selfstartersweeklytips.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7033
I suppose I need to ask another question: Have you found a better conversion rate with physical products than virtual ones, being that most people are still more familiar with physical products? On the other hand... their commissions are lower... just thinking aloud! |

Hi Al,
Sandra Fieger here from St. Vincent and the Grenadines (born in Canada).
I found that on the orders reports, you can click the buyers name and your email client will open with that person's email address in it.
Go to: credit and debit reports
Then, search any range
And click on the link that is displayed on the buyer.
My question is: what is the most valuable item you have in your affiliate management toolbox for time savings and efficiency... could be any aspect; web design, software, utilities, design or graphical tool, scripts...

A to your Q: Page Magic, although I haven't used it for my website, I used it for my dads.
My Question: Have You done the Ebay resource guide and do you plan on trying it? |

Hi, Jo-Anne here from Australia (Wollongong).
I'm going to jump back and answer Steve from Dallas re a good web building program for complete novices - try Blue Voda from www.vodahost.com. You don't need to know any HTML and it pretty much works like using Word. You just type, cut and paste. It's a free tool and I absolutely love it - my site is looking terrific! (Even if I say so myself).
Question: What are the best tools for hiding your affiliate ID in a redirection URL and is it really neccesary to do so? |

Hi I'm Wendy from Queensland Australia.
Answer to question from Jo-anne from Woolongong, I used to cloak my Affiliate URL but heard somewhere (?) that the merchant may have trouble reading the affiliate code. Don't know if this is true or not but it put me off a bit!
Apparently ClickBank affiliate codes are the easiest to swipe.
Regards
Wendy |
