|
|
Hi Ros,
I was wondering what I should expect in terms of % response rates to recommended affiliate products from my email list if I send an email out weekly.
Many thanks and Happy New Year!

Hi Carrie,
I love tough questions, but that one's a doozy!
The answer is dependent on SO many factors...
That you have a weekly newsletter is FANTASTIC. You're developing a relationship with your readers, and provided your content is good and useful information, I'll assume a loyal following.
Assuming that you link from your newsletter to your site (not the merchant's site) and offer a full product endorsement would certainly increase your response rate.
I'll also assume that your site is beautifully designed and organized.
Even with all those assumptions, my best guess would be a response rate between 1 and 20 percent.
That's because so much depends on the product itself. If it's a high-priced product, the response rate will go down. A free offer, and it will soar.
I think the best thing you can do is evaluate your initial response rates, then tweak what you're doing on a regular basis and see what works best.
How's that for a very unspecific answer? Sigh.
Cheers,
Ros |

|
|
Everyone disses ffa leads however I just ran a test which blew me away.
FFA leads are the email leads generated by those who
place ads on free for links pages.
I collected 20,000 ffa leads and uploaded them to
my autoresponder. However, you are only allowed
to send one confirmation email to ffa leads so
my first message was simply asking them to join
my newsletter.
I told them that if they joined my newsletter
that I would show them how to get 10,000 free optin
leads right now.
Out of 20,000 leads uploaded over 460 people
confirmed and joined my newsletter.
Now, they are confirmed members of my newsletter
and I can follow up legitimately.
So the myth that all ffa leads are phony junk email
addresses goes right out the window. Eyeballs saw
my message. I proved it.
You ask what should be your response rate be
and I ask what are you selling and who are you
selling it to?
People who post to ffa pages are all marketers.
I offered something that most marketers want.
Free leads. Therefore, a great response with dirt cheap
leads.
However, if I had tried to sell them real estate in
Montana I do not think I would have had anywhere
near the same response.
So the key is to target who you are selling to
and give them exactly what they want. |

| Carrie. Using unblockable pop up, I have an opt in rate of more than 11% - I've tried it on 2 entirely unrelated sites, and the response is more or less the same on each. I've also tried just having the form on my site, and only get a response rate of about 2% - so having unblockable pop up is definitely the way to go. |

I really like Instant Pop over because it's easy to use, no needless membership required and produces attractive looking pop-ups that grab attention! |

| Also, aweber is great - it is an autoresponder which has unblockable pop up. To the person who asked what is this all about - Rosalind did a great post on this in one of her newsletters. It was called something like - It's all in the list. If you click her newsletters link on the right of the page, you will be able to find it there. |
