Very Happy I would LOVE a review of my site.
http://1-flower-gardening.com

Would you re-word the "sign up" rollover, would you sign up from it if you were interested in gardening? Is the information REALLY informational?
What information were you hoping to find that you didn't?

Appreciate it! Toodles. Cool

Hi again Callie,

I think your site is lovely, and coming along just great.

A couple of issues...

You seem to be missing privacy, contact, about us and disclaimer info. I think that's a 'fault' of the template that you bought. The advisor to that template series is only NOW beginning to understand the importance of putting basic 'trust factors' on a site.

For some reason, the fonts resolve very tiny in my browser. One of those cases where you have to actually select the font size and make it bigger to be able to read it.

I would much prefer to see your signup form on every page of your site. I personally dislike those 'floaties' and think you may lose a few visitors based on that interruption. Simply having a signup form is more professional and encourages more subscribers.

Last but probably most important... no one should ever put Adsense on their homepage. You want visitors to look around your site, not lose them on the first page.

Furthermore, Google assesses visitor 'stickiness' and rewards partially on that basis. Give 'em every reason to stick around!

Keep up the great work!

Cheers,
Ros

Privacy, Contact, About us, Disclaimer info, etc... Hmmm... Where can I get the info required for these... I thought what was provided in the templates was good, but I know too little about that stuff.

My font is Georgia, 100%... It is a smaller font than, say verdana... I like it for the merchant links on the right side, but for the Content I should use a larger font? Or should I use a larger font for all and just change the size% in the merchant links on the right?

I wanted to incorporate a sign up form in the left column of each page, however Aweber's form for that was too big... my column size max is 150px and the Aweber form size min was like 200+px. Maybe they can customize something for me... I'll certainly check tonight... Would it be better if I placed the sign up form in the center column below the content, either above "Related Articles" or "Favourite Gardening Merchants"? At least it would fit there.

Adsense will be gone from the home page tonight.

Thank you, Thank you vary much! (Elvis impersonator wannabe Laughing )

Hi Callie it looks good, one small suggestion have you thought about putting some UK flower suppliers onto the site?

Bev

Love the new site as well

Hi Bev

Thank you for the compliment on my sites! Very Happy Actually, I signed up for a couple of UK merchants through CJ but haven't incorporated them yet. The commissions for them were kind of low also, but I think I'll add them anyhow as someone told me UKers are big gardeners... and as Ros said in her handbook, 12% of actual sales is better than 20% of no sales!

Also, still waiting to hear if anyone can direct me where to get good Privacy and Disclaimer info... I still haven't made those changes to my sites but would like to improve that as per Ros's suggestion.

Callie get them on now because we have mother's day at the end of March, I will check but I think it is the last Sunday in March. If you do a search check for mothering sunday because that is the proper title for it and everybody sends their mothers flowers. If you have signed up with CJ check out Marks & Spencer for their flowers because they are such a well known company with a really good reputation.
I am overseas and my mother recently went to hospital, I ordered flowers for her when she came home, in overnight only and they delivered on the right day with good quality flowers.

Just my 2pennyworth as we say in the UK

Callie I should have read the whole of your post first before replying.

What sort of disclaimer are you looking for?

I have a privacy policy if you want to take a look at which I can send you if you are interested.

WOW... now THAT's a Privacy Policy!!!!!!!!!! I'll read it through tomorrow morning... Where did you get it from? Is there somewhere I can go to just copy and paste something like that, and then tailor it to my sites?

Impressive... it covers everything... again WOW! Very Happy

And Thank You so much for the Mother's Day tip... I had no idea that Mothers Day was in March in the UK... Here in Canada it's in May. 'm going to put those UK flower links on my site tomorrow morning... Tonight (Sunday evening) I'm going to put my feet up and relax... looong week!

Callie I have xsite pro and it comes with it. There is a standard which came with it. Previously I used a different site builder and took the privacy off a friend's site with permission.

Yes the UK celebrates the religious festival not the one most countries celebrate which is why I said it was called mothering sunday, rather than mother's day.

Woe is me ... boo hoo... here it is almost a week later and I haven't been able to do a darn thing to my site... until today... BIG computer crash! Made the mistake of installing a new firewall before uninstalling the old one... What a mess... Almost lost everything... I was in major freak out mode especially since Income Tax time is just around the corner.

Anyway, live and learn... back up... back up... back up is now my new motto! Laughing Mothering Day links ahoy... onto me site ya go!

Now back to the Privacy Policy issue... Would I have any problems with the one that's on my site right now... like, could I get sued for anything, because of it is as it stands? I ask that because I've got a lot of catch up to do and don't have the time to go looking for a new policy statement... it'll be into April before I have a chance to do that.
