Hi Rosalind and Everyone else,
Gee I don't know where to begin - Hmmm OK.. here goes.. I'm Viraj and I'm a guy who is somewhat new to affiliate marketing. My background is Advertising / web-designing (strictly creative side) but I've decided to leave that field after 10 years of making my boss wealthy hopefully to chart my own destiny in affiliate sales/marketing. (Couldn't handle the stress and long hours !!)
The challenge looks very daunting indeed but hopefully I should get there with persistence and a wee bit of luck!
BTW, Rosalind your book is just great - I have read it several times and I recommend it to everyone. Very inspiring indeed !
So that's it I guess ... I'm glad to be here and hopefully will learn a lot about online marketing while contributing my 2-cents-worth knowledge on web-designing / HTML / CSS stuff !
Cheers

Hello Virajw and Nell,
Thanks for stopping by, I'm very happy to have you both on board.
Virajw, I don't know if you noticed or not, but I responded to your question about Google dumping affiliate sites in the General Forum.
I hope that helps!
Cheers,
Ros |

Rosalind, Yes I did read your reply today (was out for 2 days) and being an affiliate I guess is now becoming risky business with Google handing out capital punishments for affiliates.
Having said that Rosalind is absolutely right about having original content on websites. For instance I've had a Buddhist books website for the last 2 years - http://www.maithri.com (not a big money making site) which has 100% original content. I do not update it often as I should but still it ranks high on selective keywords simply because its original. Even the books I sell are not available elsewhere which makes it rank high I guess.
Viraj
PS. Hi Nell - yes we are all here on this stormy ocean we call Google clinging on to life-rafts hoping that no Great Whites are lurking around ! |
