For those who use Google's Adwords and other P/P/Click services for promotion, what type of Return On Investment or Sales Per Click is considered acceptable? I've had a very bad conversion rate even though I've promoted products with supposedly very high conversion rates. Recently I read in an article somewhere that over 95% of On-line sales are made through Organic Search Engine queries, direct access of URLs based on reputation, recommendations and links (including e-mails to opt-in lists and spam)
That means only 5% was made through Pay Per Click systems. Assuming these figures are accurate this is quite shocking!!! And judging by my own personal experience using Adwords I have very little reason to doubt this.

Pay per click rules. Personally I think it's the best option out there for traffic.
However this might not be the case for everyone.
Right now my best niche is costing my roughly $18.50 in Google Ad Words to make a sale of my $97 product. I'll take those conversions any day of the week.
With PPC you can moniter everything that is going on. You have control of your traffic, and you know what your getting. It's not that I'm against organic SEO, because I'm not. However you never know when Google might get a wild hair up their rear and can your ranking.
And once you get a Pay per click campaign profitable, it can basically run on auto pilot bringing you more, and more targeted visitors. |

I couldn't agree with you more, Jason.
Viraj, you included this comment...

I'll concentrate on the 'direct access of URLs based on reputation, recommendations and links', 'cause I think that's how the majority of purchasers make decisions.
When you bring initial traffic to your site using PPC and get that visitor to sign up for your newsletter, free report or ecourse; you're building your reputation.
Based on recommendations in your newsletter they return to your site and buy a product, not just one time, but probably several times.
So, although they don't generally buy during the first visit which was PPC driven... they will purchase from you and your merchants after you build a reputation as an honest seller who makes good recommendations.
That's why it all works together... driving traffic via PPC and having a list so you can bring them back again.
Cheers,

Anyone here using the "Google Cash" system of trying to sell products without a website of your own? I've been at it for a month, and not a single sale. I haven't spent too much, though. I wonder if anyone is having success with it.
Best,
Kevin |

Hi all,

I've done it, but find that it requires more research and monitoring time than I'm willing to spend.
That said, MANY affiliates use the 'Google Cash' method exclusively to promote merchants' products and do very well by it.
