I live in the South Western US, and I'm also new to internet marketing. I purchased Rosalind's e-book two weeks ago, and it has really given me a great start. Her newsletter is also consistently worth the read.
My tip to you is to find ways to stay inspired. Get a Commission Junction account right away and start looking for where the money is. Linkshare is also a great place to start. Also, do the keyword research Rosalind suggests in her book.
I was doing some research today, and found a 3-part keyword that had nearly half-a-million hits in the past 30 days. 'student loan consolidation' That is a whole lot of interest for such a specific term; the kind you could drive some well targeted traffic with. Those are the kind of nuggets you're looking for. Further research shows that the high bid for that keyword is over $8 per click! There is definately money to be made there, but the cost of paid advertising is prohibitive. That is where search engine optimization (SEO) and more creative forms of advertising come into play.
Well there's an idea of the sort of thinking you have ahead of you. Good luck! |
