Some of the larger and more popular article directories include:
- GoArticles.com - Comes highly recommended by other marketers
- PRweb.com - Submits press releases and keeps them online
- EzineArticles.com - Currently over 37,000 authors sharing their best articles
- ArticleCity.com - Once the ads load you can start your search by scrolling down below the category list and Google ads on the left.
- ArticlesFactory.com - Pages number into the thousands, so use the search to find what you want.
- ArticleDashboard.com - Uses the same software for their site as they offer for download. All categories and recent articles are on the main page.
- Amazines.com - Has many more categories than the others listed above.
- Buzzle.com - Has the latest news and articles in various topics not covered in the other sites.
- GoArticles.com - Includes a clean page layout and an advanced search to help narrow your search for articles.
- iSnare.com - Stays up with 150+ article email groups plus hundreds of quality article directories to deliver content.
- Organic-Rankings.com - Specializes in articles for Search Engine Optimization, Internet Marketing and web usability consulting.
Hope that helps.

One way to get past the affiliate link restriction is to set up a short informational page with a lead capture form on it. The confirmation page will redirect to the affiliate site. Link to that lead capture page in your articles.
