Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone is useing the autoresponder that comes with BlueHost. If so is it sufficient. Thanks for the help.

I'm thinking it's probably an auto reply thing.
But that it doesn't send multiple responses.
Am I wrong?

Most hosts have this function now-a-days.
I, like most I think, use it for simple replies.
But I don't think it's robust enough for an email series or the like.

Let us know if I'm wrong, K?
Brad.

HostMonster is a division of BlueHost and has an autoresponder (likely the same as BH's), but it is a light duty, not-made-for-marketing autoresponder.

They also throttle mailings to 50 per hour on shared host accounts. They will increase it slightly upon valid request, but you're better off with Aweber (paid autoresponder) or Dadamail (free autoresponder).

Hope this helps!

You are right Brad. Most web hosts have auto-replies built into the email. They send one-time replies and are called "Vacation" settings. They were created to be used when you go on vacation or are not available to answer the email personally.

A true autoresponder like Aweber, GetResponse, Dadamail, Free Autobot and self-hosted packages like Varpro, Maxsponder, etc., are true autoresponders. Those usually can send unlimited follow-up letters on a schedule that you set up.

This misuse of the term autoresponder can be deceiving.

I knew most did, just wondered if BlueHost was different.
I didn't want to state something that was untrue.

I use mine for replying when I trash an email addy due to spam.
It sends a quick "Oops! I didn't get your email" subject
with a quick explanation note.

I love having a host with unlimited email addresses. Wink
Brad.
