best for newbies?

OK, so I've read a few ebooks...haven't bought ros's yet..sorry...I"m still clueless as to how to take a first step, I can't seem to find something to get running. I thought CBnichebuilder would be good for something to start right away while I'm getting my feet wet...sounded like a decent all in one package basically but I emailed with a few questions and still no reply so that apparently is not the way to go. Any suggestions for a newbie that knows nothing? I can't afford to keep buying ebooks that leave me clueless....it all sounds easy.....but not for someone that knows NOTHING whatsoever about building a website......(the 'just point and click' website design programs don't work it seems...that or I'm just an idiiot and can't make them work) As for the templates that I can get....if I had a template, I'd have no clue of what to put in it...do the clickbank marketers have there own information that my site would be based on? or are they just links that I place at the bottom or on the sides of the body of the webpage? All these questions......I could go on and on...If anyone has an ebook/program, whatever, that will lead me by the hand STEP BY STEP and not leave me wondering how to do whatever it is they are talking about....let me know......I WILL BUY IT with my last dime if need be. Thanks.....sorry I made this soo long....it's not my intention to whine....I"m just beyond the point of being discouraged.............any help is always appreciated greatly!

First, get Ros' book. Ingest it, inhale it, whatever you need to do, but get it under your skin. It's the best start there is.

Even if it requires getting some refunds on that other stuff (if you can), do it.

As for website building packages, I use XSitePro myself and I don't have half a clue about most of that stuff even now. It's a biiiiig help!

That is something for later...get The Book. If you read it constantly and follow it faithfully and perform exactly as described, you WILL get there. It won't be tomorrow or next week, but you will.

You can also save some money on the website builder. Just get a host that offers cPanel hosting, like BlueHost or HostGator and install a Wordpress blog (free) in just a couple of minutes.

It's SO easy to set up and get going with your content when you use a blog as your content management system, and there are hundreds of really nice (again free) templates out there for you to download.

I'm with you on the WYSIWYG site builders. 2 hours a day for 6 months and not one page done yet.
I don't know about BlueHost, but I've got Hostgator in my favourites and whenever I feel like being depressed I go and look at the Cpanel demo. Can't make head nor tail of it. May as well be in Chinese.

I haven't tried to install a wordpress blog because I have no idea what one is. I don't even know how you'd start an ordinary blog and I've had the net for 14 years. I never read 'em.
Dumb me - I have no idea what a content management system is either.

Don't give up though. I know that even the people that are trying hard to help seem to always talk in 'jargon', but sooner or later someone will speak English to you.

I haven't tried XSitePro either. It looks pretty impressive. The less I can understand on the sales page, the more impressed I am. Not confident enough, though, to part with $200 for something that I only have a 1% chance of being able to use.

As I said before - don't give up. Do give up buying e-Books though (this from an e-Book seller). Most of the time they're full of re-hashed banalities and, again, they're written in jargon.

Definitely get Rosalind's book, read and play with the information until you really understand it. You will learn faster by doing than by just reading! YES! You're going to make mistakes, but use them to straighten out the learning curve. Most successful people have made lots of mistakes and turned them into the knowledge that made them the successes they are. Don't let them stop you, persistence is the key.

Although I use Namo 2006 (& LOVE it), Xsitepro comes highly recommended in many of the other forums I peruse. You really owe it to yourself to learn a little bit of html, though. It's not really all that complicated and a little basic understanding of it goes a long way.

I learned it using the "HTML for Dummies" and "Idiots Guide to Creating a Web Page" books. Both are available cheap, and are worth every penny to someone knows NOTHING about the subjects (like I did). It all helped me make the site (see my signature) that continues to be my laboratory for trial & error while I apply the successes to the new butterfly network I am working on.

I am only making enough so far for my site to pay it's own hosting fees, but that fact alone excited and clued me to the potential of what's to come! It's just a matter of time & effort before the day job will be history, and ANYONE with the DESIRE and FOCUS to stick to it, can do it!

I would say get a blog and host it. Drive the traffic to it. You will automatically get the results.

It too am an XSite Pro lover. I also use bluehost and wordpress as recommended by Roz - it is v easy to install wordpress on bluehost.

But, because you say you really haven't got a clue, I think you might be better off with site build it, which will help you build a business and a website all in one.

First thing you need, read well First thing is EDUCATION, before you buy anything else try to understand how the whole system works and how you can move into it.

Then you need to define your niche, find the hungry market you are going to profit from and study it very well.

After this you need to build a plan to achieve your goal, I mean what products you are going to promote and how, the tools you need (domain name, webhosting, autoresponder etc).

To build your site you can use NVU. It is “What you see is what you get (WYSIWYG)”.

Then you have to take action, many people are failing because they don't apply what they learn and buy more and more stuff but don't use it. They are going in circles until they give up.

There are many people out there selling garbage and you have to pay attention, because they promise you secret methods to make money, but then they deliver nothing.

Your success depends on you, on your skills, effort and persistence, but you have to be at the right spot.

For what it's worth, I started out using SBI (SiteBuildIt) and I knew less than nothing about html. I found the step-by-step lessons simple to follow and I still have some SBI sites to this day, although now I have learned a little more, I use both SBI and Frontpage, Dreamweaver etc.

My fiance Lyn didn't even know how to send an email when I introduced her to SBI and here is what she has been able to achieve,

I'd really recommend that you take a look. As a previous post said, it will help you build a business, not just a website.

I too highly recommend Ros's book. I review some affiliate marketing ebooks on my own site, and Ros's wins hands down. Much better than anything that has the words "rich" in the title.

For design I also use XSitePro a lot, which is very easy to use and I highly recommend SBI too.
