Hi All,
I'll give you my little story.
I've had a couple of sites for a few years and was making some
little money off them. Then I attached some Directory Generator pages
to them and, can you believe it, announced the DG pages
(ok, I was a n00b...)
Both sites banned by Google. But until then I was making some
pretty good adsense money from the pair ($200+ a day for a few days.)
Poof. Well, not totally. Yahoo was still sending traffic. MSN
wasn't up to speed yet. This was late '94
A couple of rebuilds later I was able to get the sites back into
google through the reinclusion requests.
Then the google slap in july. The one site might as well have
been banned. 40 pages of PR 4 and 5 and not one search term
in the top 20 pages of google. Might as well have been banned.
So a little more page tweaking and getting some more links
and now all is good. Several top 10 keywords in G. and MSN.
(Yahoo is thumbing its nose at me.)
I'm running about $30 a day (adsense) off the one site, plus some
affiliate revenue. The other is $5-10. But it's all good content
so no more ban worries.
Onward.

| Totally hate getting banned. Got banned on one forum just because of my user name. So I started to use Zrocker again. Still, seems more forward and honest to use a marketing name since I am a marketer. |

Haven't you heard the Google slogan?
"When it's getting good, change it."
It certainly does keep one on one's tootsytoes, doesn't it? |

Interesting story Gmee.
These days good content is king, that's for sure.
It's no good trying to outwit the good folks at Google (don't we all just love 'em?), best to just give them what they want, i.e. good content. That way your visitors get what they want as well.

Well, at least you can be optimistic about it all. One of my home pages keeps disappearing from Google. I didn't know what I'd done wrong then I noticed today that I was only just over the 10 percent for a keyphrase.
But, i wasn't even trying to keyword stuff. I guess I need to improve on my content writing. |
