Rosalind’s Holiday Home Tour 2009
Having seen the dark little office from which I work, many NPT readers have asked me to do a video home tour, and this is the result… my Holiday Home Tour 2009 in which you will see dying poinsettias, the 10 cent Christmas ornaments and reason I’ll have to workout like crazy between Christmas and Affiliate Summit.
Enjoy and Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas Ros! Great home! Hey, I can never get poinsettia’s to live either. I don’t know what it is about them. I can grow just about anything else except for them. Grrrr! (I’ve tried every tip and trick I could find to help, but to no avail!) That being said, I gave up on them and haven’t bought any in years! lol
Hey Carolyn,
Actually, I’m quite baffled by the poinsettia’s. Normally I have great success with them, even had one for 4 years until I had to move from the place. Maybe it was a bad batch from Costco?
Merry Christmas!
Cheers,
Ros
Rosalind,
Your place looks great – you’ve done a nice job decorating it and that tree looks awesome. I like the view you have out over the town – where abouts do you live? Looks like a nice area.
Happy holidays!
Thank you Will. And the view is looking south over Penticton, British Columbia and Skaha Lake at the south end of town. It IS lovely.
Cheers,
Ros
Hi Ros and Season Greetings to you as well!
My daughters brought home poinsettias from school five years ago and we planted them outside and every Christmas it is fun to watch them blossom right around Christmas –so don’t forget to be green and replant your poinsettias outside.
Merry, merry Christmas Ros, and thank you for the tour–it’s good to know that other people have the same uncooperative poinsettias and cat! BTW, what camera did you use for this video–the picture and cound turned out great! Have the best year ever in 2010.
Hi Cheryl,
I use a Flip camcorder (mine is orange). Love it! So small that you can take it anywhere, although the sound goes to pot when you’re filming outside in a breeze.
Cheers,
Ros
Poinsettias are basically tropical/sub-tropical plants, so they do best in warmer climates. Southern hemisphere.
Smart plants… like me, don’t understand why anyone lives where snow and ice aren’t optional.
Your home is beautiful! I love the view from the den, I probably would NEVER leave that room if it were mine, LOL! The Christmas tree is HUGE! OMG – can’t imagine decorating it. Have a wonderful dinner and Christmas fun with your friends and family. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Ros! Wow, would you come and decorate my tree????
Take care and Merry Christmas!
Gail
Hi Gail,
Absolutely… if it’s about 2 feet tall.
Merry Christmas to you and the brood.
Ros
Nice Home, Ros. Neat and organized, that’s what I like about a house. Talking about that, I think it’s time I do some house spring cleaning but … where do I start?
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!
Wow nice tree Ros! Ours is this tiny blue spruce that is so small I think our cockatiel would knock it over if he sat on it. Have a great holiday and see you at #asw10!
Hi Peter,
Thanks. Now that we know what’s involved with decorating that tree, we’ve decided to start spending Christmas (winters) away starting next year. Be glad for your blue spruce.
BTW, the invitation is always open, I’m just an hour away.
Merry Christmas!
Cheers,
Ros
Wow, you’re one of the most “open” online celebrities I know, showing us your home and all, such as in this video and in the recent Flickr photo set. Cool.
Ok, so you’re a cat person instead of a dog person (few people are both). Nice to know. (I am too.)
Hmmmm, interesting change of language between the blog post and the email blast: from “…the reason I’ll have to workout like crazy between Christmas and Affiliate Summit…” to the more realistic “…why I’ll be sporting an extra 10 pounds at Affiliate Summit…”, lol. Yeah, I certainly expect to fatten up a bit myself this holiday season.
Cheers!
-Jake
Hey Jake,
Hmmm… that sounds like a challenge. Good thing I started running again last week.
As for cats and dogs. I love both. You’ll see my god-dog, Chinook in the birthday party pictures. She was the guest of honor.
Best of the fattening up season to you!
Cheers,
Ros
Poinsettias do NOT like direct light, and yours are getting a lot of lovely sunlight. Which is most likely the problem. Get some new plants and see if you can find some spots that get indirect light only, and I bet they’ll do much better. Very lovely house, especially like the kitchen/family room. Happy Holidays!
Hi Ally,
Thanks for sharing! I should have known better considering that the one I had for 4 years was in a dark spot in another house. Oh well, next year.
Cheers,
Ros
Hi Ros,
Thanks for the tour! The view looks fantastic! Have you cut your hair shorter -or is it “hidden” under Santa? Looks good.
Have a great Christmas and thank you for the always inspiring advice/tips. (I think the french cooking experiments might also make some contribution to the 10 lbs!!)
Cheers,
Brian
Hi Brian,
I love the view too and yes, my hair is about as short as it’s ever been. The ladies tend to like it whereas my male friends prefer long – nice to see that you’re not of the cliche set.
Cheers,
Ros
Hi Rosalind,
Very warm and beautiful Christmas tree decorations. I loved the video and that cool hat you was wearing. LOL
Merry Christmas my friend and may God bring you and your family a wonderful and healthy 2010!
Very good video, that cat did not move! haha. Have a good Christmas.
Hi Ros,
Merry Christmas! Thanks for sharing the tour of your lovely home. It looks like a great place to spend time…unless you’re a plant of course:)
And I apparently don’t have enough Canadian friends…is it customary to light up a moose for Christmas? Best not to try this with a live one I guess…
Happy Holidays!
Mark
LOL!!! Thanks for the morning chuckle and best of the holidays to you too, Mark!
You have a beautiful home. Makes me really want to step up my game in affiliate marketing.
Happy Holidays.
Hi Marie,
Nice to hear how my home inspires you and ’tis true. It’s the house that affiliate marketing bought. I couldn’t have done it on my ATC salary – not unless I gave up eating, driving, furniture….
Happy Holidays to you too!
Cheers,
Ros
Hey Ross,
Merry Christmas to you and your family
You have an awesome looking home, thanks for
sharing it with us.
Kenneth
That was sweet, thank you. What’s on the menu for Christmas Eve? I liked Julie and Julia too.
Merry Christmas!
Hi Kimberly,
Boeuf Bourguignon, of course!
You can find the recipe online here.
Bon Appetit!
Ros
Neat and tidy. You didn’t spruce up a bit before shooting did you? Oooo that’s deceptive.
