In my opinion, having a clear vision (i.e. the determination to make IT) is the most important ingredient to long-term success. It helps motivate you in days when you 'just don't want to get out of bed' and it motivates those around you. In my experience, people levitate towards people with passion and conviction - people who have direction, and belief in what they stand for. No one goes for 'mediocrity' anymore, or ever...
